I’m thinking about all the people I know that have a mac or iphone and to be honest all those people are either wierd, stuck up, or gay. Why is this? Apple fans are just different folks I guess.

Anyway, I’m a BB curve user and I can’t wait for AT&T to sport the Omnia.

I don’t know why there is all this talk about iphone vs omnia, when the only thing the iphone has over it is the touch screen technology. As far as features and capability, the omnia wins hands down. The omnia is not as slow as other win mobile devices from before, and i am still waiting for a bberry that boots faster than it. the omnia is all. and don’t mention allll the bluetooth profiles it supports, camera features, and DLNA capability. The iphone looses.

I realised that whenever i install 3rd party apps. and those are required to be installed in the device memory, it will install in the device memory’s storage, but not program memory. is there anyway to install them in program memory? because the device storage have very little space. I have 3.14mb storage memory and 48.92MB storage memory left in the device.

Yes, you can use a SIM while traveling if the SGH-i900 is unlocked. I just purchased one 2 months ago and I love it. I also have an Iphone (1st generation). And in Europe (Belgium) where I purchased this phone, they dubbed it the Iphone Killer. In fact it is. I use my wi-fi often and GPRS when no wi-fi is available. They updated the OS to be more user friendly and not layered with too many unecessary menus.

The feel and comfortability is great and battery life is excellent. I love it.

Love your list of iPhone Truths.

I’ll add that the Omnia, because of the high res camera, has an OCR app for business cards that reads a business card and inserts the info into your contacts.

It also can OCR any pic of text – i.e. take a pic of the menu, and then send the text in email… I’ve tried the phone out at the Samsung Experience in NY.

I returned my iPhone 3G already, and I’m “this” close to just buying the European Omnia as is and using it without 3G on AT&T’s Edge Network. Cause that iPhone is BOGUS!!!

ok first Crapples sh-I-t phone sucks donkey balls, second that Android os looks like a cheap rip off of a gps interface haha 3rd of all yeah i hate Microsoft because they had to flash money around and make a consel that sucks balls but used money to buy exclusive game rights that is only thing they have goin for them and there consel is about to expire its at its threshold but thats another story even though i hate there consel I do love there Windows mobile and for the guy that bashed java your a complete moron java is compatible with far more programs than any other current app runner out there and i love it man i have everything from a bank account tracker to my own personal Bible as well as a search built in with it java is far superior than the sh-I-t phones app runner consideirng Crapple as your sh-I-t phone set up where they can delete any app on your phone they see fit at anytime lol sounds gayyyyyy to mee

Dont do it, Yes T Mobile is acting very stingey with their selections and network, but I have inside connections and T Mobile will be the shit by March of ‘09. So I would advise you to stick with them just a little while longer.

If you have Verizon, you can just get the Diamond. Same thing but lower memory, no microSD, but with a regular microUSB port, better screen resolution, TouchFLO 3D, and a back button (not that useful but can come in handy). It is has only been announced for Sprint so far, but if you get MetroPCS to unlock it ($30+service plan with no contract so you can just pay $30 and whatever the first month costs), then you might be able to get Verizon to activate it for you. Of course I heard rumors that the Diamond may also go to Verizon but under a different name and probably different features.

Well i just bought the phone a couple of days ago and im still waiting for it…this phone has everything and more that the iphone doesnt have…the only thing that it was stopping me from buying the omnia is that i doesnt come with 3g capable….and still dont know if it will come to the US.. so i decided to get and sacrifice the 3g support since we dont know if this phone will make it to the us…i hope someone will give us information if this phone will actually make it to the US with 3g capability…

The 3G iPhone Truths- continued Part 2:

The iPhone has no expansion port (The Omnia has a microSD slot).

The iPhone’s battery is not replaceable. (The Omnia has a replaceable battery that you can remove and replace with a new one or a newly recharged one).

The iPhone has a full HTML browser. (so does the Omnia- the page displays entire web page initially and then you can with a flick of the finger, expand the page in realtime to any size you like and move it to the right location with the touch of the finger- similar to the iPhone).

The Omnia comes with two cameras. One in the front and the 5MP in the back. The extra front camera is used, so the other person on the other line can see you (if they also have the Omnia- great for deaf people). The future use of front camera is obvious- face to face talking or seeing a realtime event live!.

The Omnia has a FM radio with recording capabilty at 128kbps- near CD-quality.

The iPhone when plugged in gives you iTunes browser to work with, and you’re at its mercy of what you can or can’t do, the iPhone (esp in th Windows XP and Vista) cannot be used as an external removable storage of files that you want to drag or drop. (The Omnia when plugged in the USB, becomes an Removable storage device (just like a memory stick), where you can drag and drop to and from the device and computer, things like aplications CABs, MP3s, videos, zip files or slf-extracting encrypted files, or pictures (jpg, bmp, tiff, etc) etc.

The iPhone has a slick touch screen OS. (the Omnia uses the TouchWiz OS which mimics pretty much the same principle as the OS X on the iPhone).

iPhone has some cool games which can use the accelerometer (So does the Omnia- it also has a accelerometer, lots of established software exists for the Windows Mobile world- eg software emulators that can play all Super Nintendo games, can emulate DOS games without a glitch- Doom engine games and Quake, etc- work fine on a high speed 624mhz Marvell CPU- including software to overclock the CPU to 800mhz and higher.

I hope this also helps you decide on the Omnia vs the 3G iPhone.

I have AT & T for my old iPhone and it has very good reception. I don’t get dropped calls, like some people note. Did it ever occur to anyone, that some dropped calls are sometimes based on the other persons poor cheap phone and

Yes I’m going to gt the Omnia.

The 3G iPhone truths:

The iPhone uses HSPDA at 3.2 mbps- or 3G speed (Omnia uses 7.2 mbps speed – or a 3.5G phone– 4 megabytes MP3 file in 7 seconds or less)
The iPhone has no video (the Omnia has video plus video editing on the phone itself)
The iPhone has no TV video out port (The Omnia has video out for Powerpoint presentations or anything else)
The iPhone has fixed 2Megapixl picture camera. (The Omnia has 5 Mega pixels with Macro, dynamic range, zoom, face recognition, etc).
The iPhone plays mov and adobe flash video (The Omnia plays divx, xvid, wmv, MP4, H 263/4, mpeg, mpg)
The iPhone has has no text reader (The Omnia has Word for windows with cut and paste, etc)

The Omnia has Powerpoint, Excel, Word for Windows.

The iPhone has a hybrid GPS with no street by street audio help- not realtime. (The Omnia has a true GPS with street by street audio telling you where to take a left or right, etc in realtime.)

The iPhone has no true recording capability, except for some poor 3rd party applications.
The Omnia has true voice recording and playback.

The iPhone has no voice recognition calling (the Omnia has true voice- call contact name, for example.

This is just a partial list.

Way to go man! I have been thinking writing something in a forum just like you did. I am completely standing behind you. Screw apple and their phone deal with AT&T. There is all these stupid people who say well the Omnia is so expensive and the iPhone is so cheap. I am not sure how they check on their monthly charges. THAT’S WHY IT IS SO CHEAP. Somebody home McFly?????? It is actually a good idea to get the expensive cost of a device down a bit so more users can afford it, but people just don’t get it. Your monthly bill will be higher.

And yes, I agree, they are so ignorant about features you need. How do businesses think they are going to get their tasks and notes synchronized to their phones. Oh, that’s right, I am business user, I don’t need tasks … and notes, not necessary. So what, we have a half integration now?

And I also completely agree with you on the file system stuff. You plug WM into the laptop and it looks just like another drive. It is so damn easy, my grandma could understand that … iTunes, whatever … I tell you iPhone users, you try the Omnia for 3-4 weeks and use it with all it’s features, you are goinbg to sell your iphone on some auction very soon. My 2 cents …
