Samsung Omnia i900 hitting AT&T in Q3?

That’s what our AT&T boys in blue are sayin’! Want some details on it? Well, it’s rumored to have all the usual AT&T stuff like AT&T Music, AT&T Video, AT&T Navigator, and more. But, it’s also going to have AT&T Mobile TV, too. The other specs are pretty well know: a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device with a 5 megapixel camera with face detection, quad-band EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, 3.2″ WQVGA touch screen (sadly it’s 240×400), Bluetooth, and either 8GB or 16GB of internal memory. We’re working on some press shots for y’all, but in the meantime, go on and keep comparing it to the iPhone 3G…
Thanks, Omie!

Price at $199 like the iPhone and I’ll be all over this phone.
T-mo? are you out there? come on and get some good phone please.
stop sidekicking me and get a smartphone!
What’s the processor in this thing? 1/2 the reason iPhone is so smooth is that it has a shitload of horses inside. Other half is Apple developed an OS specifically for it, as opposed to the one size fits all (sorta) WinMo OS.
@ Marco
This is not the i907. The i907 has a qwerty keyboard at looks like a BJII.
Can anyone give an example of video that shows ATT Navigator? This I want to see…
@justblase
i believe this phone has a 312mhz processor … iphone has a 624mhz
Samsung i907 is not Omnia. If you want the proof, I got the FCC picture of the I907 back showing camera module, sim slot and it clearly states that i907 uses 1000mah battery while Omnia uses 1440mah battery. Also, omnia camera module is on the top left corner on the back while i907 is in the top center on the back.
battery has nothing to do with it. them samsung i907 for at&t could look differnt but have the same “insides” as the i900
Not looking to inflame the issue, but I did come across some speculations (a few weeks ago – pre Singapore release) that seemed to imply the USA version would be EDGE only, have a 2 MP camera (not 5), and that the lens placement would be more centered. Granted, this could all have come from i907 specs but all early postings and youtube vids presented the i907 as the AT&T USA version of the i900.
I am NOT saying any of this is correct. I’m just very interested in the USA version and am anxious to stay on top of the updates.
The problem with dropped calls is VERY subjective. This all depends on where you live. If you live in a fringe area you WILL have dropped calls. I’ve been with AT&T since last September and I have maybe had 2-3 dropped calls at most. Again, look at your area and see the approximate coverage. Also remember that if you are inside a building no carrier will guarantee service as the signal will depend on the construction type and other factors. I wish you luck.
This is a phone for losers and wannabes. Windows Mobil is junk and anyone who buys this deserves it.
@The Outside, the Omnia does not have a 312MHz cpu, it has a 624MHz CPU. I would think Android will post to the Omnia as they intended it to work on most phones.
I saw ademo of the instinct from CommunicAsia and they ran Opera on it. Looked amazing and everything was super quick. I would take this over the iPhone any day.
It could be my next phone. I just hope Telecom Argentina will sell it here, subsidized of COURSE.
I have been with ATT for 7 years and have had no problems with service. One thing you have to do is check out the phone you buy. Some phones have better service than others. If you don’t like it take it back before the trial period is up and try something else.
this phone has been launched in Tokyo in Jun mid. it will be launched in uk bout august end. it is a stunning phone much better than i phhone with 6gb + mmc expandable upto 16gb imagine the feature you get is not at all close to iphone.
Get out of that ugly contract. They recently increased messaging charges. So you aren’t required to pay ETF to break that T-Mobile bond

It has step by step guide to ditch T-Mobile.
As a person who works for AT&T, a move to AT&T would be a good choice for you. AT&T is putting up new towers everyday.
I also have AT&T service and I have yet to have a problem with coverage. They are even expanding the coverage for 3G to more places.
Any word on whether this phone is coming to Verizon? If so any word on price and when it will be released? I’m interested in the LG Dare, but I like this phone more. I’m just not sure whether I should continue to wait and see if Verizon gets this phone or go with the LG Dare.
Javier, Verizon is getting the Black Berry Thunder this September….Full Touch Screen …Im not sure what the UI is going to be like as i have never had a BB, I hope ithas a good camera. Check it out here…

This is a GSM phone. Verizon is CDMA technology. There are only rumors it will come to AT&T and no one knows if it will have the same feature set as the i900 or when it will come (Q3 or Q4). As of now, there is no indication of a CDMA version of this phone. If you want a new phone for VZW, consider the Dare or possibly wait for the Moto Blaze which is rumored to be a similar device made by Motorola for Verizon.
If you go to mobiledia.com, it shows that this phone will has a Q3 2008 release date on AT&T. I’m a T-Mobile customer and I’m jumping ship when this phone is released. I can’t wait any longer for T-Mobile to revamp their line up. They offer better phones in Europe for T-mobile than they do in the U.S.
hopefully the omnia is going to verizon….at&t doesn’t provide insurance for the iphone or iphone3g, if they get the 907 they probably won’t provide it for it either.
any word on u.s priceing?
