Anything to get through LaGuardia faster, I’m all for it.

Let’s hope the staff at LaG. are up to speed. I can just see me flashing the BB, and someone saying “Nice try Sir, but boarding pass please.”

I work as PDA tech support for T-Mobile and to tell you the truth i’d say 50% of my business calls are for 8700- older devices. Its funny too because the end users are always asking about the new Blackberrys. LOL

I’m sure you can still get it at the check-in booth. Afterall, it’s all on the same database.

I think it’s interesting that everyone’s commenting on how old his 7290 is because most everyone with a Blackberry I see doesn’t have the current 81xx, 83xx, and 88xx generation models but rather the 87xx series.

Both Canadian airlines (Air Canada and WestJet) have been doing this since last year.

You also get a boarding pass number which can be keyed in manually if you can’t pull up the image or the scanner can’t read it.

I actually tried this with Air Canada on my last flight and it didn’t work. The link or text message never arrived to my bb curve and still hasn’t to this day. I had to print my boarding pass the old way to present to security. I’m all for using technology, but if it slows me down like this, forget it.

Hey a lot of the corporate types still carry on with the old BB, but the problem is what if your BB crashes or somethings happens what are you going to do then.
