Sidekick LX OTA walkthrough
Ok, chaps. We just got the much-awaited Sidekick LX OTA courtesy of the good folks over at Danger. And yes, it does record video! Aren’t you excited? We detailed a long list of what the OTA contains, but we’ll post it again to give you a recap:
- Capture videos using the new video mode
- Playback from the SD card or email attachments using the media player
- Share videos via email, Picture messaging, and Bluetooth
- Listen to songs or videos using a stereo Bluetooth device
- Send and receive photos, videos, or music via Bluetooth
- 3 IM clients & enhancements to AIM® and Yahoo!® Messenger

- See who is logged into IM from the address book or email and instantly start a conversation

- Search for friends in a buddy list
- Got more buddies than you can keep track of? See who’s online right from the address book or email, and search for friends in your buddy lists
- Select how Web pages are displayed based on preference
- PC-like, full-size layout to pan & scan while reading o Standard Sidekick screen-size layout to simply scroll down the page to read · Mini Page to zoom out on an overview of an entire Web page

well i tried to take everything out and do wut ppl r sayin but it aint workin idk anymore if it dosent come by the 15th im gonna get the iphone
Is there ANYTHING i can try to do to get my update?

I’m not expecting this update anytime soon. I can’t even get a response from T-Mobile. I’ve heard a lot of different rumors and asked them what the real deal was, and they said they’d respond in 48 hours. That was a week ago. I don’t know what T-Mobile considers “48 hours”, but last I checked, 48 hours was 2 days, not 7.
I’ve been a SideKick owner since 2002. (I had the bar of soap model, black & white and I can tell you the OTA’s take a while to get to you but they will get to you.
A Question did any of you buy the Sk for the UPDATES or did you buy it because you thought the SK was a steller piece of equipment.
Updates come and go but the SK is still an awsome piece of commnications gear.
I finally got my ota not that good 20 sec of video in u can not watch youtube I think every body should get by it the end of this month

Dat shit aint all that
But I aint gone lie I was anxious for it
And when I finally get it wasn’t wat I expect
But im kind of liking the new look tho
Especially on the emailin part
On youtube there is a guy who tells you how to get the ota. Just type in sidekick lx ota. I got mine yesterday because of it. Pay close attention.

Here’s how to get the OTA
1st- go to your IM settings and change your feature that automatically connects you to your im when you turn on your phone. Do this for all IM applications and Myspace application as well….
2nd- power off your device… as the 4 icons are coming on hold the menu button and the letter O at the same time until your menu screen comes up
3rd- Pay close attention to the the G7 icon in the top right corner and watch and see if the it is pulsating with a white line going thru the 7 continuously….
IMPORTANT- if the white line is going thru the 7 continuously for 3 minutes..just put your phone down and wait…you’ll have the update within 10minutes…
if the white line stops before 3 minutes restart and repeat process
I promise you this works…no bs…i did it myself this morning and so did 2 of my friends

Btw…i got it by doing the turn on and off thing i saw it on youtube…the guy ^^^ with all the directions says what the video says and it works..
yup ol boi wuz rite bout turnin tha phone off nd on, tha update iz str8. it makes me feel up 2 date haha. nd screw yu guys wit tha tony hawk lx
the update its pretty cool i got it. all u have to do. is turn ur phone off and on like 3 or 4 times. mega b. that recives should go up to 13 or 12 something an it will have an alert that sys u got the update.
i got my sidekick up to 13m but nothing is happening,
what should i do now?

But what’s rising up fast is kb transfered. Received is going up too, just not as fast.

Hey that video on youtube is true, I did what it said and I got the update and I’m watching videos on my sidekick. And its definetly not a coincidence cause I did it one night and my friend did it the next night and we both got it so I’m saying its good

Man…I can’t wait neither…I live in indiana and we wud prolly b the last one to receive our updates…when will the updates end? And how will they be sure that evry sidekick lx recieves this update?
Ugh I’ve had my LX 4ever and still no OTA update. A friend got her update already and I’ve had mine longer than her soo itt makes no sense to me??
