Sidekick LX OTA walkthrough
Ok, chaps. We just got the much-awaited Sidekick LX OTA courtesy of the good folks over at Danger. And yes, it does record video! Aren’t you excited? We detailed a long list of what the OTA contains, but we’ll post it again to give you a recap:
- Capture videos using the new video mode
- Playback from the SD card or email attachments using the media player

- See who is logged into IM from the address book or email and instantly start a conversation
- Set a custom status message then keep chatting
- Search for friends in a buddy list
- Got more buddies than you can keep track of? See who’s online right from the address book or email, and search for friends in your buddy lists
- Select how Web pages are displayed based on preference
- PC-like, full-size layout to pan & scan while reading o Standard Sidekick screen-size layout to simply scroll down the page to read · Mini Page to zoom out on an overview of an entire Web page
- Save images from Web pages to the SD card Personalize the way you want to surf
- Device does not restart after a download. Just install an item, and it’s ready to use

the ota update is being given by region by region. u wont just wake up and have it..it;ll send an alert to your phone asking you to select the update option, the phone will power off then restart. then all your new features will be available. this has no set time limit. it could take anywhere from a month to 3 months before u see the update. yeah..waiting sucks, but its about time. cuz for an expensive phone like that..it really did nothin..its supposed to be a signature phone and its about time it has some signature features.
Omfg tmo had told me on 6.25.08 we’re in july god dam it! They fcking suck when’s it my turn! Ugh….and another question 4 those who have the update, does youtube really work or did the stupid tmo rep lie 2 me???

okay everyone complains to ffn much on here. YOU will get your OTA when you get it. IT’S THAT SIMPLE. just wait..it’s not even that IMPRESSIVE. recording is lame. WOW 20 sec recording is really going to change your frekin life huh? gosh why is everyone so attatched to the hip with their sidekicks..I have one and I use it but I don’t act like it’s my life, it’s just a tool..geez BREATHE EVERYONE…take AN EFFN DEEP BREATHE!!!!
I called tmobile last night and I was told that they don’t issue out the OTA updates only danger does. and it doesn’t matter how long you have had the phone or if you just got it. They are sending out the updates randomly so the systems doesn’t crash. So be patient. I’m still waiting for my update and I’m being patient just don’t keep looking at the update and also tmobile said that everyone should get the update before the end of this month. Danger told them this.

Omg this phone is like now better than da iphone the videos are like more than a minute the iphone is 4seconds and there the same size and iphones always have a problem and the sidekick has like a 1000 more features than a iphone any ways the sidekick cost more than an iphone and anyways wat they made like 3 iphones in less than a year those I phones are all da same the sidekick got style
Its july 23 2008, and people said the ota was suppose to come out in june, i havent got mine,

Ohh && to TYLER && JOSE, that weird message that you're talking bout, does the date say dec 31,1969? There's no to & from numbers? && it just says receving message? && it won't delete? If this is what you're tlking about well, I received that about 2 months ago. I did a soft reset, it didn't delete. So, I had to call tmobile && they told me that they would try to delete it for me. They also told me to do a soft reset, I did but the message was still there. So, they gave me a trouble ticket. While I was waiting for them to call me back, I soft resetted my fone again && the message was gone. Ahh sorri if this was lenghty x]
I’m really hoping that the ota would reach my fone soon. Please danger come on!!
Dudes, I live in Houston and I still haven’t gotten my update. Maybe we’ll all have it by the time the sidekick 2008 comes out. I think that Danger is just slowing down the hype of the sidekick lx so that the new sidekick phone sells just as well. Huh, well, Im guessing imma have to wait a bit longer. Anyone from houston gotten their update yet?

look every1 if like 4000 people got it yesterday like in a hour were all gonna get it dont you c peop[le already saying i got the update i got ok i spoke 2 t-mobile like 10,000 times and i started bicthing but the thing is that the satilite the erea u mabe hasent got the update becuz the wirless and ur phone is still loading the update so before the agust 1 the update is goona popout in ur screen so dont worry
I just bought my lx. went to a corp store and the lady there had the sk 08 out. the 08 will have video rec capability already on it. My sklx doesnt even have the option to make the tabs for the email. i have and old OS. No OTA update for me in STL. For the question of “can I watch youtube on my sk?” NO, but if you convert videos into .3gp you can then watch entire movies on your lx.
