Sidekick LX OTA walkthrough
Ok, chaps. We just got the much-awaited Sidekick LX OTA courtesy of the good folks over at Danger. And yes, it does record video! Aren’t you excited? We detailed a long list of what the OTA contains, but we’ll post it again to give you a recap:
- Capture videos using the new video mode
- Playback from the SD card or email attachments using the media player

every1 in new york has them except for mine. am waiting for my update 4 2 months alredy. is there somthing wrong wif my phone. >=\
i also herd u culd use some code 2 force ur lx 2 update ? is it tru or not ?? =|
its not a code its more like a method…personally i tried it and it didnt work…i just randomly got mine..but many people seem to have success with it.
Whoeva came up wit that “keep retartin ya sidekick till u get it” shit must have tha special James Bond 007 edition lx or somethin cuz bottom line…that shit does not work! And if does somehow come thru 2 work its gonna cuase hella harm 2 ur kick down tha line in tha future trust me I’m a computer tech. Anytime u continuously restart a mac or pc all that does is send a signal 2 the cpu telling it that’s there’s a problem and in tha process anything can happen 2 it…crashing, viruses, etc. Question ppl…tha sk is jus like a mini computer right? Now what would happen 2 ur pc at home if u jus kept restaring it 4 no apparent reason at 3 o’clock in tha damn mornin? Huh? I’ll tell u what would happen…u would fry every circuit in ur pc that’s what. So imagine what ur doin 2 ur sk messin around wit that restart till u get it bullshit…eventually ur gonna fry ur shit n tha only number ur gonna have left in ur address back is TMobile’s. U gotta b kiddin me…like I said whoeva came up wit that bullshit must have a beautiful relationship wit they sk 4 real. As much as I hate 2 say it…jus wait 4 ya updates so it could come thru officially and not on some forcing shit…its better 2 b safe than sorry. Next we gon b forcing our sk’s 2 have convos wit us 2 huh?
it does work if u keep restarting it. i know i got mad after i restarted it like 6 times. but then like after the 20th restart i noticed the m’s getting better and the swoosh getting faster few mins later i got it. trust me it works.
oh and it mstly works around the am’s. i got mine at 2 30 am
I think that trick does work but some peoples kicks are slowerr,
like mine x,x .
I want my updatee man I’ve been using kicks forever *&. they always give me problems! lol

you guys realize there are “hacks” all over the internet that show you how to force the update, right?
THIS ONE WORKED FOR ME… IT ONLY TOOK 2 OR 3 TRIES:
You can Force your sidekick lx to recieve the update (Guranteed)
Aug 6 2008, 8:44 AM EDT
Step 1. Log of everything you have open (im, myspace, everything)
Step 2. Restart your device
Step 3. Do not sign into any apps or send any data
Step 3. Watch your G7 for 3 minutes if the white swoosh isnt pulsating fast through the 7 then u need to restart (you can even go to network settings press menu + m if ur bytes recieved start counting fast ur good)
Step 4. Press Menu, Settings, Network Status, then Menu+m to watch you bytes received, if its going up your good. you will recieve your update when it hits 12.2m
Step 5. Restart your sidekick as many times until your g7 continues to pulsate with white streak FAST & NONSTOP…10 minutes later it should still be moving even when ur not logged into messenger or texting or emailing….once u realize its doing the trick…lay ur sidekick down and in about 30 minutes ur OTA will be here…
Step 6. The best time to do it is about 3am

Okay let me tell all of you guys a little something. FUCK TMOBILE! The update sucks some serioud butt! Not only that but for a 400 dollar phone i would havegotten a touch screen or something that has faster onternet and allows me to watch videos onliine
i just got my update last night… to make it come sooner.. i left it on for 3 days without shutting it off… then my friend accidently shut it off.. but when i turned it on … my update came within an hour.
Can you still reviece the sidekick lx ota update?
When is the ota for the lx 09 (blade) coming?
