Samsung i788 coming to AT&T?
Rumor though this may be, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see the Samsung i788 hitting AT&T sometime in the near future. The handset is essentially a Blackjack III, sporting a form factor that will be more than familiar to current Blackjack I and II owners. The i788 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device, complete with touch screen, HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, Samsung’s bizarro optical mouse pointer, and more. Unfortunately, it appears to retain the current Blackjack’s keyboard layout, which ranks as one of our least favorite amongst current generation QWERTY handsets. Even so, we can imagine more than a few people jumping at the gate to get their hands on one of these bad boys. No promises that this will actually land AT&T, but recent reports of carrier-branded versions of the handset in the wild lend credence to the possibility. Time will tell.

Meh. This device is what the Blackjack II should have been.
/Blackjack I owner.
//iPhone 3G ftw.
//Android later.
Try i907…
Nice, I would like to see what this phone can do because if it’s cheaper or better than the BB bold, then I might have an alternative.
As far as I know the bold has a talking time of 5 hrs only which isn’t amazing. It would take more than the hours of talk time to convince me to get a phone like that since I’m used to the BB world now…
Pass.
So true@Randy
LOL, if this would have come out as the BJ II, I would have jumped all on this to replace my BJ. But I’ve moved on to a TyTn. The screen size sucks.
Amir: if you think you’re going to 5 hours of talk time out of any WM Pro device, especially one that is as thin as this looks, better stick with the Blackberry.
@evilhomer
You really think you can’t get 5 hours of talk time out of something like this? I’ve hit 6-7 on my Tilt and about 30 minutes more on my BJ. You must have an iPhone, so you don’t what battery life is.
Ugly.
The Instinct is better than that, just want a story about this hot device that will debut in a 2 without a peep.
I guess that means that NetFront 3.5 Browser might work on it. Could be a nice browsing device. Guess the little bio-metric mousepad might take a little getting use to.
I have played with the tri-band/2100MHz version of this in China. It’s a pretty nice device and the form factor is pretty nice. The square 320×320 screen is way better than just QVGA. I found the keyboard took just a little bit of getting used to, but concluded that I could use it nearly as well as the E61i’s board with just a little practice.
I now have your fingerprint.
Anyone know if the camera will have a flash?
