BlackBerry Bold hits Rogers on June 25th?
We’ve got two independant tips on this date, so let’s hope it pans out to be true. AT&T corporate is still telling their Fortune 500 customers that the Bold will launch in “July/August”. Hopefully Rogers will swift kick them in the ass and get them moving. What’s holding up the Bold, you ask? Well, nothing. The units went into production a while ago and the latest software build is extremely stable. It’s all up to the carriers now. What say you, friendly Canadians? Raiding a Rogers store on June 25th for a BlackBerry Bold? Our previous Rogers release dates were spot on, so we’ll see!
UPDATE: We’re now hearing July 17th with the launch party on July 8th… go figure.

Come ooooon Bold!! I want to rid myself of this stupid iPhone. 3G iPhone? Pfsh. I would be EMBARRASSED to own one.

Yey, I have a wild hunch that AT&T will follow shortly early July or so. From the article, its only a matter of units being available.

Would it really come out on Rogers prior to att which is much larger? Maybe att will launch the day before Rogers.

@Shawn J. Roberts RIM is Canadian why not favour the homeland and AT&T being bigger means nothing at this point anyways, AT&T (while they always seem to get hot new devices) are slack when it comes to release dates, they have no problem holding items back.

My wife and I both have non-bluetooth phones. With the new hands free law being implemented on July 1st, I personally am a little peeved and ATT’s slack attitude. Why not come out BEFORE the 3G iphone!? I am utterly baffled.

Shelly, could u tell me more?
I’ve been a loyal bb user for a while, and I’ve been enticed for the iphone3G..
I really like the large screen for browsing and watching youtube videos..
What didnt you like about it? I’d like to know more from a bb user who has not liked the iphone.
thanks

@blee, I had a BB Pearl for over a year and I loved it. Then for some reason, I went to the iPhone. I guess I had a need for something “prettier”. I’ve had the iPhone for about 4 months now and I can’t do anywhere near what I could do with my Pearl. It was nice and entertaining for a little with YouTube and the zooming in and out of webpages with your fingers but….. I just want my BB back. This is the best list:

I can’t wait to send and receive pictures NOT through email. Oh, and copy and paste

if the device is actually done, my guess is that it has to do with any agreements with Apple as to why the Bold is scheduled for such a later time. We all know how Apple pretty much owns AT&T at this point and dictates everything so it wouldn’t surprise me if they are holding off the Bold to not potentially hurt any Apple sales.

I love Rogers,
I will let you know how good it is on the 26th!

I agree with WickedRabbit, Apple has AT&T’s hands tied behind their back for the iphone 3G…I’d say it makes sense for RIM to just say the heck with it and release in their own country first and AT&T misses out a little for being in bed with Apple.

Are you guys gonna buy it outright or upgrade? I’d like to just buy it outright, I bought a Jack and I now hate WinMo, I’d love to give the Bold a go but I’m scared it’s gonna be $700 lol.

Umm, the rogers wireless website says “something big” will be released on July11. the image looks like the new BB bold. ??

Funny how professionals keep saying that Apple and RIM will be catering to different consumers, yet ATT has to sit there with Bolds in their warehouses to only wait for the 3G iPhone to release.
Too bad all of those idiotic Apple fanboys don’t realize that their soon to be 3G iphone is going to be 3G iSlow. That’s what happens when Hand Jobs buys the bottom end of the barrel 3G chips…
Go Bold!

Bold,
If you actually clicked the link you would have read the release is the 3G iphone.

I personally think that RIM is going down.. sort of anyway…
Because there are SO many future BlackBerrys that it’s too hard to keep track of… why would anyone buy the Bold when we already know of the Javelin, SeaWolf and Thunder?
Not to mention the iPhone 3G. I have been using the past 5 BlackBerrys and I am making the switch to the iPhone on June 11th — sorry RIM, it’s too late. Maybe a 2-week-earlier release would have given you some competition but the iPhone is the future in mobile phones.

ATT may be holding off on the Bold release because they are getting incentivized from Apple for hitting a volume target. (I can’t confirm this and it’s purely speculation)
Why else would they care so much about releasing the iphone first?

@Bold,
What’s coming to Rogers on July 11th is the iphone like everywhere else. Not the Bold. It’ll be out June 25th.

Dude, there are only 3 “announced” new models. Well, 3 unique form factors anyway (QWERTY/Bold, Flip phone/Kickstart, touchscreen/Thunder). All the rest of those names are just variations on one of those 3 models. When the dust settles, there’s probably only going to be 1 name for each. That’s not so much to keep track of, especially considering at least half of those are either rumors, vaporware (at this point), or R&D development names.
