White Nokia E71 in the flesh
Remember that black Nokia E71 we kinda, sorta fell in love with? Turns out it’s not alone. A shiny white version of the handset has been spotted in the concrete jungle, replacing the black model’s dapper exterior with a little bit of light. While white can often make a handset look a little unappealing, Nokia has done an excellent job here, implementing the new paint job in a classy, tasteful way. This ain’t no white/green Palm Centro. As great as this is, what we would love even more is for a US carrier, cough**AT&T**cough, to pick up this amazing handset for mass distribution. That, dear readers, would make us happy. But, oh yeah, we called that already! Also, as good as this E71 looks, we’re pretty sure its sort of a spare parts unit. For clarification, the keyboard and the back top cover look to be installed on a regular E71. Expect the white AT&T version to be… white.

I was reading the article title a second before the photo loaded and was thinking “WOW this is gonna look great”
But then it loaded and there it is: An ugly half brown, half white mess. Why do they do that? An all-white E71 would have looked brilliant.

As much as I like my E61i and want to love the e71, I’m really struggling with Symbian/S60’s lack of better fonts and eye appeal.
Admittedly the fonts on the e71 are marginally better than the e61i….but it’s been a whole year…why, dear Nokia, can I nothing better than “marginally better??”

“can I *say* nothing better…” is what I meant.

I have got to admit….The E-Series selection is looking rather delicious this year. Both the E66 & E71 are VERY attractive looking devices. The specs don’t disappoint either…
Ya’ heard, Steve?

The pic doesnt do this white version justice. the problem is that all the chrome parts on the phone is reflecting a dark shirt and blue jeans, so it looks like white and brown. We need to see the white E71 with no chrome reflections.

This pic definitely doesn’t do the device justice, you’ll need to see it for yourselves once it’s out! Taking a closer look, by the looks of the keypad, I’m not even sure if it’s the latest hardware.
