Hot off the wires, we’ve got a hold of the unsubsidized price for the iPhone 3G. Well, for Italy anyway. Vodafone Italy is setting an out-of-contract price at €499 and €569 for the 8GB and 16GB models respectively. We don’t know what the monthly nut is going to be yet but word on the streets is that this pricing is actually reasonable and dare we say competitive in Italy’s smartphone market.

ubsidized price for the iPhone 3G in France:
99euros 8GB
199euros 16GB

Lets say they’ll sell it brand new on the black market with 399 euros and it will STILL be astronomical….its not worth it….I would price its actual value at 200 euros (199)
PS: its a huge amount of money for this device on the italian market…don’t belive all that you hear

F*ck the iphone. My friends and I swore to never buy an Apple product again because of this At&t/Apple lockdown fiasco. I would have paid the old $400 dollar price tag but the only way At&t can pull customers with there sh!tty service is to whore out nices phones.

THAT IS A TOTAL RIP OFF! You can buy a new regular iphone for that price, without a contract, and already activated and jailbroken blah blah blah! Jobs said it would be around 200 dollars, even 200 euros (320 dollars) is tantelizing to me! But not 500! God …. Screw you Jobs! I’m here in Spain, and they won’t even say how much anything will cost :(.

I don’t see what the big deal is.. why doesn’t jobs want any and everyone to own one of these puppies? Just sell a freaking unlocked version like every other manufacturer and call it a day.. apple and their bs..

WTF, how the hell are they going to sell 10 million iphones if no one can get one. I am officially getting over these new tricks. Blackberry Bold here I come.

You can’t blame at&t for this one. Verizon was Apple’s first choice originally and, they said no due to the fact of Apple wanting some of their profits. Of course, Verizon has the largest profit margin on service out of all the carriers(rip-offs). at&t new this would be a hot device and a first time release. They just wanted to make their money back on it. The five-year exclusive is just smart business sense. No one wants to go broke while Apple gets rich. Especially, when Apple made a device with poor reception and at&t had decent coverage areas. Let’s face it, most iphone users live in cities and the burbs. Every carrier and their mother has service there.

Thank Gal, guess i deserve it for thinking you knew how to do the conversion. In the US its not being sold without contract so moot issue over here.

ok folks I’m here in Italy so I can tell you how crazy everyone is going over the new 3g Iphone, it’s a heck of a lot of money but the italians way (by the way I’m british
) they prefer to pay as you go and not have a contract phone because they swap carriers pretty frequently and can choose which is the best tariff to have with each carrier, in the long run the costs would be the same, if not less buying outright, paying for a contract for 2 years and even now no-one is any wiser as to what the contract will include, italians for you

No prices for the UK yet but, based on the Italian prices, we’re looking at £350-£450.
Of course then you have to take a £7.50 pm bolt on so you don’t get anally raped by the data charges.
I’ll pass, thanks. If I’m goign to get one it’ll be on contract.

Well, though it sounds expensive, it is reasonable in Europe. Here in Greece, this is a good price. lol, it’s sad, isn’t it?
