A couple of added points. The touchflo 3d does have a delay but I wounldn't call it a lag, after moving the icon slider to your choice it takes a moment to go through an animation of switching from a - b, I found a few tweaks to increase the caching on the system this seems to have helped quite alot in all of the animated transition (less loading time required). TouchFlo 3d can be turned off (it is just a today plug-in that when run will not allow other plug ins to run) I personally found that launching programs was blazingly fast compared to my kaiser. I also found some application not playing very well with windows 6.1 ie: resco explorer worked but launched really slowly and doesn't respond very fast to input. (I blame the OS because I used a leaked copy of 6.1 on my kaiser and experienced the same lag) So finding the right mix of applications makes this device the fastest I've owned.
working apps:
TomTom 6, SpriteBackup (comes with), I use to use a whole slew of SPB software but I found TF3D replaced them all.

Failed apps:
iGuidance will not run (was extremely painful on kaiser running 6.1 too would sometimes start)
spb backup (bad not working properly on 6.1)

I wonder if MS has done more under the hood rearranging then meets the eye.

I use my phone in Toronto and if this thing doesn't have 850mhz I so far have not missed it and the battery needs a nightly recharge.
I personally see no deal breakers here but I change my handsets several times a year, it will be interesting to see just how long I use this one. May until the touch pro...

if the touchflo UI lags, how does it respond when using the regular WM interface? I mean booting without TouchFlo enabled

Now that is one hell of a review. Absolutely superb.

I had been awaiting this phone and reading all of the pre-release press. Was willing to pay over $1,000 for an unlocked version. NOT NOW!!!

This review answered all of my questions and saved me a bunch of money. The most telling for me was the unresponsiveness of the screen, which was thoroughly covered in the review. Second, the low volume of the speakers for incoming calls and the speakerphone. For once a review adequately covered how a phone functions as a phone first. Forget all of the gimmicks like multimedia (mp3 capabilities), video recording, etc. Will i be able to hear on the damn thing in everyday environments!!!

Like I started this post BG, absolutely great review!

Would the lag in performance be due to the graphic drivers at all?
