R u serious I have the curve through verizon and I work for sprint….. Sprint will not be getting this phone.. And u can see how dumb most of these ppl r I own the storm and everything all these ppl had to say and almost all the info is incorrect cdma is in everyway better than gsm unless ur out of the country I worked for att and now sprint and I have owned vzw blackberry the whole time cuz no other companys service could compare that being said tmobile does have the best cust service but if ppl would not access things they don’t know how to use and restrict there kids to using a phone as a phone and purchase the proper packages they wouldn’t be calling and tring to get free things and pay there bill on time they would relize that vzw is not all that bad all I’m saying is I have worked for the best as most of u say ATT and there not all that u can fit 10 times the calls in one channel in cdma than u can in gsm if u don’t belive do the research urself ….. Can u here me now ….. I own this phone don’t be scared iphone ppl u will still have ur crappy service for u that want fast buy the storm

I love VZW. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the ATT network. Too many calls dropping since Cingular became ATT. My VZW grabs em all. Can’t wait to see the BB Thunder.

couldn’t have said it better. I am so over touchscreens. They have now moved from a genuinely useful technological advancement to just another gimmick designed to help carriers and manufacturers sell more devices to people who don’t give a rat’s behind about the device itself, but rather want nothing more than to be the envy of all their friends. Stupid. I love my BB Curve because it isn’t an iPhone.

just because verizon has the best overall signal everywhere doesn’t mean you have to hate on this phone. I’m an ex-verizon now iphone user on tmobile, and as an ex-verizon user, i can say that i have never had any signal problems, with the exceptions of 2 places. i can’t say whether it will work overseas, but i can say that verizon is trying to keep everyone from going to AT&T to get the iphone, because every iphone competitor verizon has released, hasn’t matched to the iphone’s simplicity, design, and capabilities for the competing prices. the voyager was the first, and in some ways, yes it did beat the iphone with the capability to not require the data plan, stellar phone quality, and a physical qwerty keyboard. but it didn’t have wi-fi and the touch screen doesn’t come close to the iphone’s, and the menus are redundant compared to the iphones. and the Dare had the same problems. good camera phone, bad touch screen phone. now verizon pulls out this last-resort phone, which has the easy-to-use blackberry os, with a touch screen. how good the touch screen is remains to be seen, but this looks like the first serious iphone competitor from verizon right now, and if this phone fails, then yes you can hate on it, but wait until someone like cnet reviews this phone and calls judgment on it. so if your verizon signal is good in your area, and you have $500 to spend on a phone, then here you go. but otherwise, shut up about the verizon commercials. if you don’t like them, change the channel. they dont use that “can you hear me now?” gimmick anymore, so don’t even complain about that either. i read that someone complained about how abnoxious the verizon people at mall kiosks. NEWSFLASH! all phone salespeople at mall kiosks are like that! its their job to try and get you to buy a phone. but if they bother you so much, just ignore them. really. thats all you have to do but if you can’t stand that they still talk to you, don’t go by there. its not that hard really.

I think.. seriously if your going to go with verizon, to get the samsung glyde if your into touch fones and QWERTY keyboards
BUT
i agree i dnt like verizon at all but they have pretty kool fones
and there service is ok
heres an example i was in the movies and someone called me (i have verizon) and i couldnt here them it was all static and my friend who has T-mobile got a call and we were in the same place and he could hear his caller perfectly….. so u do the math… but i say go with glyde
Reasons: CHEAP, kool features, slide out keyboard and touch screen think of the glyde as the Side kick but with touch…datz jus me tho

Don’t forget that this will not be Blackberry’s only phone model available. If someone can’t live without the keyboard, Blackberry offers one with every other model. As far as the lack of slide out keyboard, I believe that was a design/cost decision.

I thought the same about BB and touchscreen at first. i currently have the 8830 (for business) and i LOVE it. but…i also have a 100% touchscreen phone for personal use. i hated typing on the screen at first, but once you get used to it…its very convenient and nice. ALSO, in quiet settings, you dont get the “click” noise while typing that the 8830 keyboards are famous for.

in short….ever since i’ve owned a Blackberry (5000 and 6000 mono-color series)…i’ve never been short of amazed by their new products. they have never failed and i dont expect any less from this model.

Im pretty excited..i can wait.

To those who complain about the keyboard:

This is not the only reason people stick with blackberry. Our firm uses blackberry because of the server side software that allows us to control everything about the devices in our organization. Also they have different devices for different tastes, and we’re still maintaining a standard for the company reducing our IT overhead. I would have an iphone if integrated with BES but it doesnt.

This phone will do much better than some of you think.

I can’t wait until VZW gets this BB. They have the largest coverage of Data by any carrier and believe they just recieved an award from JDpowers for Customer service. If you don’t like the touchscreen buy a curve or pearl.
BTW how many of you really travel overseas or just want to!

So Apple rolls out a phone with 1 button on the front, 1 on the left side (2 if you count the switch for silent mode), 1 on the top. Everything else is handled by software smarts.

RIM predictably throws out something with three times as many buttons. Why? You’ve got a touch screen, why not use it?

(I say predictably because PC manufacturers wanting to compete with Apple always seem to do so by saying “oh, but look! our laptop has a built-in 23-in-one media card reader, and extra buttons for fast-forwarding your music, and….”)

(Saint-Exupéry was an author, adventurer, aviator and aircraft designer back in the early days, in case anyone doesn’t recognize the name.)

It came to VZW bc ATT/Tmob data network sucks and verizon although not the cheapest has the best coverage and features. ive had them all, there is no comparison. Ill prolly stick with my curve though…
