BlackBerry Thunder live shot, damn we’re good!

You all know the Thunder right? Well, looky looky who got a cookie. Yeah peoples, live shot of the BlackBerry Thunder right here. By just looking at the photo, we can see that almost every button on a traditional BlackBerry like the convenience keys are still there. Like we reported, there are only four physical buttons on the front and a large touch-screen. It is also coming to Verizon. Take a look at a larger shot after the jump and stay tuned for more information on it soon. Wow, we were almost spot on with our mock-up

slide out keyboard, ahhaha, what a F#$%
ill give you something that slides out.
if this phone has same specs as the Samsung i900 or the american version the i907, than I forgetting about the rainbow name for this thing, would prolly get it just cuz of blackberry’s rep. if you really need a keyboard and dont know how to use the pen for writing, well first off you should have this phone, then get a usb keyboard that attaches, if you were to have a slideout, it would make more bulky and wouldn’t have the same specs. RTFM. Actually you know what, this phone doesn’t even have a front camera for video conference, so nm i woudlnt buy it, ha.

It’s to bad companies are locking in their products with certain cariers… Not that the BB Thunder interests me as much, but if it did, I would be more apt to not get it because of Verizon. If I have a great relationship with one carrier, why should I be forced to switch?

I’m shedding a tear, its beautiful… Think about this for all yous” keyboard fanatics… BB prime functionality has always been on the side of user-friendly when comes to this phone biz- unlike apple who’s VERY new to the market, what makes you think that BB would all of the sudden forget that!! Touch screen is the TAKEOVER!

Because slide out keyboards are a thing of the past, they’re way too clunky, ugly and annoying. The Thunder looks great

You are simply lying if you say texting on the iphone is easier than ANY BB. Apple makes pretty products for sure but very often features and functionality are NOT always the best or are just as good as other products. Apple sometimes does something very good but often with a trade off. Its natural, you can’t have everything. Thank the gods ther’re pretty -thats the real geneous. Lucky for Apple. Sorry guy -click your heals and come home Dorothy.

OH! It’s August! 2 more months! (at least, right?) My brother just bought the Verizon Curve and the salesperson told him the Thunder was coming in November, not October - really hope he’s wrong.

Amazing, iphone junkies who think they can type faster on an iphone instead of an bb. I have had an iphone since it came out and a blackberry for work and the blackberry wins hands down for pretty much everything but music. I can type faster on it, it has voice activation which I can use to surf my contacts or just dial a number, I can program voice commands for email, voicemail, contacts, menu’s etc…

iphone will never be able to compete with a blackberry in those areas.

Awesome Phone, I just can’t figure out why so many of you are bashing Verizon, I’ve been with them for almost 10 years and never had a problem. I think it is great for VZW!!!

In fact, try using ANY AT&T phone in Japan, neither carrier has the frequency for Japan.

What is with the argument about VZW trying to make money?! Did Sprint, AT&T and T Mobile all of sudden become non-profits? If you really think about how business is structured the companies charging the most generally have a quality product, and the majority of customers are very happy with it. TMobile gives away the house because they have a subpar product. Sprint gives everything away because they are bleeding customers by the millions. AT&T is only in the game because of mergers and now rely heavily on a overly hyped, but well marketed iphone. It can’t picture message, cant take video, etc. The tiny fraction of customers we data geeks make up isn’t going to influence the companies much, if at all. The new BB will be a huge hit on VZW.

Hey Galvatron, if Sprint got this phone then you’d have to put up with their crappy network. Besides Sprint is dead in the water(just look at their earnings). By the way, Verizon has lifetime exclusive rights to this phone. RIMM is no dummy, they’re making a smart move here. Blackberry sells more devices with Verizon than with any other carrier.

@Rich: Dude, this will succeed for the very reason the iPhone did. Many of us wanted to get an iPhone but Apple and VZW couldn’t come to terms. We were stuck with a bunch of lame iphone knockoffs thru VZW. This looks like a serious contender to the iPhone for people on the VZW network. Remember, some of us actually like the VZW plans we have because we a lot of friends and family there.

If you don’t like that it doesn’t have a keyboard then don’t buy it. The old ones will suit you fine. As for me, this is where its at

Guess what?!?! Bet all of you GPS will be disable so you’ll have to buy their stupid VZ nav. Will this thing have WI-FI or VZW too stupid to add that feature in?

Why do people say things that make absolutely no since? There are several phones on VZW that have both 3g and Wi-Fi. My samsung i760 does. And don’t knock VZ Nav until you fully use it. That service is hands down better than a lot of GPS devices, plus it includes shopping and entertainment (movies with reviews and ratings) right in the app.

Whats the problem? This isnt a replacement for the old blackberry. It’s just something to compete with the iphone.

You don’t think they need something to compete with that has taken a 26% market share?

They are also launching a new phone with the keyboard you like so much so get it instead.

You know, I thought the same thing for quite a while. Then my friends all started saying that they actually prefer typing on the iPhone keyboard over the their old BB and now I’m not so sure anymore. Most people I speak to say that they actually type faster on their iPhone touch keyboard so I’ll be going with this as my next BB as soon as it comes out.

One other reaons iPhone and VZW is that VZW wants their techs to be able to work on the iPhone but Apple wouldn’t let them and will only let Apple tech work on the iPhone, that was one main reason VZW did not carry the iPhone.

According to my verizon coverage map, if you dont have coverage where you live, you are a hick and live in the cornfields in Iowa or something. This phone looks cool but i hope the keyboard isn’t as annoying as the iphone keyboard. Thats why i bought a blackberry!

you did not get a blackberry from vzw, you got a razor… they wipe all their phones and reload it with a verizon interface. you have half the phone your blackberry COULD be. not to mention their ui, and use of outdated networks, (excluding 3g) actually slows your phone down significatly, AND drains battery life faster, so you have wwaaayyyy lower amounts of talk time, and you have to charge your phone more, wich means you will have to get a new battery sooner as well. also, no sim cards, wich is one of the most time and stress saving factors when changing your phone.

also t-mobile is #1 in customer service…7 years in a row… and thats from jd power and associates. and not to mention vzw charges more than any other wireless carrier and all you get is…free nights and weekends? lol have fun with that

Sprint is on its way down. Tmobile is in talks to buy them out. They are having so much financial stress they cant keep up with the demand. How many other carriers do you know of that actually will cancel your contract because you call in to ask a question on your account. I was with Sprint for over 6 years, not untill I left, did I realize just how crappy they really are. They are never upfront with you, they over charge you on everything. Sprint will be gone soon its only a matter of time. As far as ATT getting this phone its not going to happen, its an exclusive deal with Verizon, just like the Iphone is an exclusive deal for ATT. Every carrier has their good and bads. Yeah verizon cost more, but you get way better service, the employees are much better than the other carriers. You pay for what you get, think of it like that.

    1. You hate a company because of their colors?
    2. The UI is not even universal on all handsets! What do you not like about it?
    3. Expensive? Check the prices against AT&T and Sprint. SAME
    4. J.D. Power says VZW is #1 customer care
    5. The fact that you see VZW ads everywhere is a sign of good advertizing. After all, dont you want people to know who you are? “Can you hear me now? GOOD!”
    6. How often do 95% of the people in the country travel outside of North America (where every one of VZW phones work)
    7. Where do you live? BuFu Egypt?
