BlackBerry Thunder live shot, damn we’re good!
You all know the Thunder right? Well, looky looky who got a cookie. Yeah peoples, live shot of the BlackBerry Thunder right here. By just looking at the photo, we can see that almost every button on a traditional BlackBerry like the convenience keys are still there. Like we reported, there are only four physical buttons on the front and a large touch-screen. It is also coming to Verizon. Take a look at a larger shot after the jump and stay tuned for more information on it soon. Wow, we were almost spot on with our mock-up…

My company has been pushing me to own a Blackberry. I love the iPhone too much to give it up. I’ve been a loyal crackberry fan for the last 5 years until the iPhone. I must admit if the Thunder is as good as the iPhone I just might take the crackerry phone back. I’ll never part ways with the iPhone because. I have turned into a loyal Apple fan

I have actually had my hands on the “Thunder” and believe me, you will not miss the manual keyboard one bit. It is actually easier to use, especially people with bigger thumbs. It blows away the iphone. I wish I had one now.

I believe the BB Thunder should not be limited to VZW, I believe it should support the other carriers so BB doesn’t have to worry about sales quotas. Also about RIM not including a keyboard, they offer many other BBs with the same and better applications with a full qwerty, so basically the Thunder is just a phone created to optimize their profits and appeal to the new day and age of touch screen technology and to expand RIM’s target audience from business men to everyday people.

Its kind of getting old now. Every touch screen phone that comes out has to be better than the iphone and according to most websites, the all succeeded in being a good phone, but all failed in beating the iphone. the voyager was supppose to kill the iphone, but did that happen. and that’s the reason why I have a voygaer right now. I wanted a phone that was better than the iphone. but that was a total lie. the instinct was suppose to be better than the iphone. It does have some stuff that the iphone doesn’t have, but most say that it still isn’t better. then the vu. Two weeks ago it was the Dare. But not that manhy people are saying that the dare is better anymore. and now it is the Blackberry thunder. I mean seriously. I already know that the blackberry thunder is going to be a very good phone, but I don’t think it is going to be that much different from the bold, which I think is okay. and just like the other touch screen phones, everywhere I see information about the thunder, I have to read about how much better it is going to be than the iphone.

Verizon probably regrets not signing with the iphone. But if I was them, it would have been a hard decision for me too. Verizon is kind of controlling and they want to be in control of every part of the customer.
And verizon lost A LOT of customers to the iphone. A LOT!!

mmm i think they said its a lifetime exclusive for verizon wireless meaning no one else is going to have it XD oh and depends if verizon meets the quota lol

This looks A LOT like the new Lg DARE that Verizon just released…
I’m in the process of a new phone, and was going to most likely get the Dare or the BB Curve…I might hold out for the Thunder.

They chose VZ because its currently the largest and best rated wireless company in the world, with 30% more business customers and 39% more non bussiness customers than any other wireless company in the world! Not to mention AT&T had huge BB email problems that still haven’t been fully worked out. BB went with where they would make the money!

When I read about the Thunder on your site, I immediately held off on buying the Curve. Great job reporting! What’s the deal with availability? I originally heard/read Q3, but Verizon makes no mention of this. We do a lot of business with VZW and VZ Business at work and called our Rep who said it’s delayed until at least Q1 of next year.

i don’t agree with everyone putting down verizon on why they got this bberry. verizon is the most reliable network and gives you the best service out5 of any carriers and with addition of taking over altel theres no stopping where they will go next to become stronger. another thing at&t had a a good day on the launch off the iphone didn’t they, make sure the systems work right when you launch something

Shame on BGR for this poorly photoshopped illustration. Look at the screen guys, it’s the Bold..all he did was cut it in the middle, copy a portion and paste in to make the screen taller and cut off the keyboard. Then he took another BB device and pasted the “Touchscreen” on top of it to give it that familiar BB look we know and love. BGR should be very ashamed for pulling this crap on us. Everyone that fell for it should stop and take a good look at this image and comment again.
EFF BGR YOU LYING SONS OF BEACHES!

BY THE WAY “mike”….
Nobody who switched to the iPhone for the touch screen is going to be switching back to the Blackberry Thunder just because it has a touch screen as well. The iPhone’s multi-touch screen is far more intuitive and advanced than anything RIM’s going to be able to put on the Thunder. That is unless their ready to infringe on one of the over 200 patents protecting the iPhone’s design.

you are sooo right; blacberry is forgetting their roots as a business device; no way they’re going to successfully complete with apple and the slew of me2’s from nokia, samsung, sony, etc.
give me a keyboard with documents to go so i can edit my word, excel, and powerpoint and a fast internet and i’m sold.
i do not need mp3 playing, GPS, or even the so called wi fi

I cannot wait for this Blackberry to come out. I have a Blackberry Curve with VZW provided to me by my employer and also my personal iPhone with AT&T. Prior to the iPhone’s introduction to life, I had my personal cell service with VZW and had no complaints other than billing issues. They would always screw up my bill and I would spend a lot of time on the phone with their customer service departments. That was NEVER a pleasant issue but I dealt with it, because their cell reception was the best I’d ever had. I am a diehard Mac addict. So when the iPhone rumors became a reality I had to have one. Got mine the day the came out, yes I was one of the crazies camping out for a phone. Now, my issues do not lie with the phone but rather with AT&T. They have horrible cell reception issues in this area. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains in VA. They are horrible here! Now, kudos to their customer service and tech support teams, they’ve been stellar and have given me numerous discounts, refunds, etc. However, that didn’t fix the problem of not being able to use the phone in only one room in my house in one spot and constant dropped/failed calls in town. When the Thunder comes out, my business is going back to VZW. I love the touchscreen features of my iPhone, especially the keyboard. I can type much faster, much more accurately on the iPhone than on the Curve and its QWERTY physical keyboard. I would rather argue with the billing department than to have missed/dropped/failed calls.

Hey, does anyone actually get a BlackBerry because they like them???
I thought every user had one because their company got it, and had no other choice.

I agree with Rich, i like the phone and i think it will do very well but not in the business person demographic. More and more kids are getting turned on to blackberry, this phone will sell a lot to young kids. I enjoy the full keyboard because it is quick and easy to send texts/emails so i think i will probably stay away from the touch screen blackberry.

confirmed with someone who has seen the phone in hand that the codename is “Thunder” and release name will be “Storm”.

Wow. I’m one of those people who live in a cave because this is the first time I’m looking at a possible replacement for my 8830, my personal phone. I like the real keyboard on the 8830 but I’m willing to retrain myself with using a virtual keyboard. I use the phone’s keyboard primarily for sending text messages. I tried using it to modify a word document and it was painful. I’d rather have a bigger screen to browse the web now than having a real keyboard. As far as VZW vs. ATT service level goes, I may just stick with VZW because of their excellent coverage in my area. Although I have to admit, ATT’s EDGE is just as fast as VWZ last time my friend and I did an informal test. VZW edges out ATT when it comes to reliable signal. No drop calls for me in two years with them. Before hearing about the Thunder, I was actually looking forward to my first iPhone. Won’t be buying until end of the year so let’s see. I still may change my mind.

yah.. that sure is the point of a blackberry but nowadays there is this thing called imitating the designs of other brand and there’s this other thing called evolution but i think there wouldn’t be a whole blackberry series of this thing…

VZW is the best service by far
