BlackBerry Thunder live shot, damn we’re good!
You all know the Thunder right? Well, looky looky who got a cookie. Yeah peoples, live shot of the BlackBerry Thunder right here. By just looking at the photo, we can see that almost every button on a traditional BlackBerry like the convenience keys are still there. Like we reported, there are only four physical buttons on the front and a large touch-screen. It is also coming to Verizon. Take a look at a larger shot after the jump and stay tuned for more information on it soon. Wow, we were almost spot on with our mock-up…

What a crock!!!! The iphone is a great phone and web browser but the keyboard is slow and cumbersome!
Dude….Verizon started off as PrimeCo….I should know…I sold celluar service and bought a PrimeCo phone when it first came out, and I’ve had that service ever since. Why do you have to pollute these sites with your hate and fanboy crap.
… I wonder how hard it would be to play brick breaker with a finger…
hey butta! holla i need my thunder unlocked for t-mobile!!!!!!
for “TOUCH” i need my bb thunder unlocked for t-mobile? Please…..Money Making Opportunity here.
What phone are you aware of that works in Japan, except for a Japanese phone. They use PDN technology and everyone else uses CDMA or GSM.
yo, wow. if any of you read anything about this phone, you would know that… um… IT IS A PHOTOSHOP!!! DUMBASSES!!!
anyways, this looks like a tight phone for verizon. cant wait to get it!
why would this phone go to t mobile or AT&T? VZW has 100 times better coverage and way better customer service with this phone and the attel purchase, there is no looking back for vzw! iphone what?
SO MANY BLACKBERRYS – SO LITTLE TIME ! Gotta love it. Thank-you RIM.
Keep on Crackin’,
- CB
I WANT ONE!
Well at least as long as the touch screen is better than Voyager’s.
VZW DOES NOT redo the interface of a BB (other than a custom theme and their log on the startup and shutdown screens. Nor do they cripple the GPS as the Settings > GPS page is still there and Google Maps works just fine on it.
If, as rumors indicate, this is another WORLD PHONE then all the better. They have the best service, the best coverage overall, and now the best Blackberry!
It’s a great idea from RIM to propose 2 kinds of products. They give a choice to their custumers that doesn’t exist on the market even chez la Pomme!
No not excited about it at all, actually a little angry at all of these exclusive deals. Instead of looking for upfront money, BlackBerry should just make these units available on all major carriers. I’m getting a little tired of being the last kid on the block when it comes to new BBs. I really want this phone with my current carrier.
Yes!!!! Finally Verizon gets something exclusive. It’s a must have. I have both Verizon and AT&T and I must say my Verizon service is superior. I have better coverage and customer support more helpful. Can’t wait for the touch screen BB. I’m not a fan of the Iphone at all. BlackBerry has better/faster email and internet.
“I think VZW is bad:
1. I hate their colors/mall kiosks sales people
2. The UI on most of their phones suck.
3. They are expensive
4. I think T-Mobile claims #1 customer service
5. I detest their advertising, which seems to get everywhere (they probably think that’s a good thing)
6. Most of their phones don’t work abroad
7. They do NOT have good coverage where I live, neight does AT&T. The best are Sprint and T-Mobile.
8. Their handset selection is limited. Their only vendors are LG and Samsung.
Verizon is just not my kind of carrier, YMMV.
Well lateedah! Here’s where what you say doesn’t matter at all, ben:
1. Apparently their color choices have worked out pretty well so far- NOBODY can argue that point, and no smart company would base color choices on ONE person, sounds like your picking the bottom of BOTH the CDMA & GSM barrels there buddy.
2.Say what? the UI on MOST phones are confusing-at least it doesn’t matter which VZ phone you pickup, it’s pretty easy to go from one to the other.Give it up-Sanyo was bought by Kyocera, so they now suck, too!
3.YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, or in your case, if you have both S and TMo, you pay twice for Sprint so they can bill you incorrectly for sub-par coverage nationwide, AND you also get to enjoy the network for kids:T-SLOOOW.
4.HMMMM…better check up on that one, but let’s assume yoo’re correct- the best customer service on the SMALLEST NETWORK IN THE USA! They must be proud. Of course, if you do have THE SMALLEST, you probably get plenty of practice!
5.Can you hear me now? What is it w/you and VZ. I’m calling disgruntled ex-employee.
6.It’s one thing to complain about foreign coverage, but you can’t have it both ways right now-(LTE, here we come)You can’t complain about lack of coverage overseas, AND say T-Slo is the best here at home-foul ball, and Barbara Streisand as well.
7.Where the heck do you live, man? What pocket of inexplicability do you exist within, where VZ and ATT don’t cover your home, but Tmo and Splinter DO?? You are a truly RARE specimen.
8.Because LG rocks on VZ and Samsung is a nice 2nd-and because the big M is now SAD SUCKY MOTO, Goodbye, Moto! But wait! we made the RAZR almost 10 yrs ago…, and what else you got? I covered the Sanyo/Kyocera debacle already, and Nokia hasn’t even made a good CDMA device in…ummm…whatever, they ignore CDMA now, so what’s left that’s worthy? ZERO
9.AND LASTLY-Oh, I see. Your kind of carrier has great coverage ‘abroad’, terrible coverage across the U.S.A. and really nice people to talk to on a landline so they can be nice about your phone not working inside- OR THE WORST cust svc ever, so they can do the same, AND overbill you past the cheapo rates you were quoted in the advertising that can’t be found anywhere? You aren’t an American are you?
You might not be aware of the things that work on other networks/carrier devices. 2 examples: Verizon berries do not even show a call forward option – exists on other carrier network devices. Also many RIM API calls do not function on the VZW network. Those doing development and testing for the blackberry devices have found a ton of defeatured capabilities on the VZW devices.
Nice artist’s rendering. If *I* draw my own, will RIM build it?
So, youse hafta write like ur a thug to post on this site? unowhatimsayin, dawg?
i think its a wise move on Blackberry…i use the 8700 still and i also own the curve…i love the 8700 for it’s feel and brutness…the curve is great for photos and music etc. bottom line…everyone has choice….so choose your blackberry tool wisely! the touch screen is a growing preference in the tech world…so even though some of the comments were negative, i have to say it all makes sense! bank machines are becoming more touch-screen based and this is just the beginning. nothing to do with iphone!
WHAT ABOUT LOCKING BLUETOOTH? VZW SUCKS!
That’a the problem w/ posts. ANY old Joe blow w/ internet access can “open their mouth” metaphorically speaking of course on a subject & instead of wanting to find out about the product or know anything about allow their “fanboy/haterism” or whatever you want to call it shine through. No matter who you have EVERY carrier/provider has drawbacks. EVERY carrier. I personally have never seen the logic behind AT&T charging Verizon plan pricing while offering what is essentially the same coverage as T-Mobile, (Now before people start jumping on T-Mobile’s coverage we all know that T-Mobile’s own actual coverage is not all that great & primarily consists of roaming agreements but that’s not the point here.) but you don’t see me bashing AT&T. It is what it is.
Personally I like the Touch Screen idea. Does that mean MY opinion is the only one? No. What may work for me may not work for another.
Although I must admit reading all these comments are quite entertaining. You can almost see the ego’s swelling & the anger setting in.
As for the phone I hope & will assume the best that it is not a pnotoshop job. I’d love to see the actual spec sheet & if it meets what I need & more importantly what I want will seriously consider picking it up. So how about it BGR? Think you can make those specs accessible?
If they give this phone to VZW exclusively I’m moving to Canada. It’s always AT&T first or all carriers. This is weird. I blame the whole thing on President Bush and the Iraq war.
this phone looks kilelr
I will comment on this when they have a real phone to speak of. This is only a rendering of what it might look like!
In response to the comment below: Anti Christ? you in idiot. You have no idea what you are talking about. If verizon meets there quota? When do they not meet there quota?! your a idiot. And who would get the phone next smart guy?
Well hey simply to put, the thing is the BlackBerry Thunder compared to the BlackBerry Bold is probably gonna be the same as the BlackBerry Pearl/Curve compared to the Black Berry 8800 series. The Thunder is gonna be more of the Media version for the masses while the Bold is more directed to the Business and more Technical audience. So, hey all they did was take away the keyboard, but seriously I’m hurting on their choice on removing their famous QWERTY keyboard…But hey they needed something to make the iPhone look like garbage (i love the iPhone, but hey BB all the way), and they managed that with the Bold and i guess they just want to make apple look bad at their own game so they added the touch screen…to put it simply, “If you ain’t feeling the Thunder, be Bold” quote by a tamil friend of mine.
