BlackBerry Thunder live shot, damn we’re good!
You all know the Thunder right? Well, looky looky who got a cookie. Yeah peoples, live shot of the BlackBerry Thunder right here. By just looking at the photo, we can see that almost every button on a traditional BlackBerry like the convenience keys are still there. Like we reported, there are only four physical buttons on the front and a large touch-screen. It is also coming to Verizon. Take a look at a larger shot after the jump and stay tuned for more information on it soon. Wow, we were almost spot on with our mock-up…

Ha! Yea AT&T really gave the farm away on the iPhone… I bet they are regretting it EVERY day… I mean, of course, except that they’ve NEVER had a more successful product (from a profitability point of view) than the iPhone. But who cares about profit…
Verizon screwed themselves when they passed on the iPhone. And then they were SCRAMBLING when it came out… Verizon is just ANOTHER short sighted company that doesn’t care about their customer. I should know… I WAS one of their customers WAY back when it was Cellular One… then Airtouch… then Verizon. Once they became Verizon their customer service hit the bottom. AT&T has been a breath of fresh air.

@fakejesus, you and everyone with a brain knows you can’t type 10x faster on the iphone keyboard than a curve. I understand if.you don’t like the bb that’s fine, but one irefutable fact about the iphone is: worst keyboard in the history of cell phones.

Please stop teasing us and post the rest of the pics you have on the Thunder already? This is obviously either from a device manual or training material and I’m sure you have more than just this one.

this is a slick phone that VZW needs. WE are constantly being beaten to the punch by sub-standard carriers like SPRINT and T-MOBILE for phones like this. I have an XV6800 and plan to keep it for a while…well atleast untill this baby comes out!
@ Ben…your an idiot. I dont know nor care where you live, but there is NO WAY SPRINT (which might I add will more than likely be going out of business soon) nor T-MOBILE has better service than VZW…or ATT for the matter. Try getting good customer service @ Sprint then tell me whos better? I worked for them and quite because of the train-wreck they call a wireless phone company. I’ve had VZW for over 7 years now with absolutley no problems. And I can Atest that this is a good move for BB!

Hmmmm, I was sooo ready to give up VZ Navigator for a PDA that actually syncs with a Mac out of the box and without much hair pulling. But since it’s Edge at home, if this comes out soon enough, and has RevA data and VZ Navigator, maybe not.

For those of you crying about Verizon crippling the Thunder and not working overseas. Guess what?????????? The Thunder is both CDMA and GSM, it works on Verizon and Vodaphone……Also, Verizon does not cripple smartphones and Blackberrys with the exception of maybe GPS and Verizon standard UI is not on smartphones, blackberrys, its the original UI. What i’m waiting for confirmation on is that the UI is ‘multi-touch’. RIM filed a patent for a ‘multi-touch’ UI and this phone may be it. Stay tuned.

Ha, so an announcement today of all times with Apple announcing their iPhone 3G tomorrow. Looks like RIM is trying to take a little ‘thunder’ away from Apple’s conference tomorrow. Pun intended.

LOL MAD FUNNY!!! Guys what do you think will be the release date, May 2010? Nah I am thinking VZ will have to power test this baby for 3 years at least before the release so I’d say July of 2011. VZW all the way!!!
So as article states this pic should prevent some people from buying an iPhone on Tuesday? HAHA My advice just get the iPhone with a 2 year contract on Tuesday and then by the time it expires you can get this phone.
Best,

It looks sexy as hell, for a blackberry atleast. As far as everyone is griping here, Verizon is a great network with what I’ve seen good service. They just have a premium cost associated with them. A cost I would prefer not to spend for less features

Maybe because I posted it?

Well done on the scoop. It looks like that phone that everyone wants, so maybe they’ll fool some people, like PC makers that style laptops to look like macbooks.

JD Power and associates ranked Verizon as #1 with T mobile… and i’ve always had helpful support when i’ve had to call them…
You’re right about the GPS issue though, that’s definitely a huge negative…

Think back in the day BB was only for business people. The phone were too big and the service too expensive.
Then the 7130 came out, and it snagged a few consumers. Then the pearl came out and it snagged even more consumers, and then the curve and it continues to bring consumer class users to bb every single day. The point being RIM isn’t there to only please business users or hardcore bb fans. They are in it to make money.
This new device and the flip bb is going to bring a TON of people to the bb family. RIM doesn’t give a fuck what anyone on this sight thinks, because we are for the most part all enthusiasts and have had blackberries for years. They are concerned with bringing the teen demographic into the fold and other people too intimidated to buy a bb. It’s all about profit and that’s a good thing.
Ultimately there is nothing wrong with branching out. I prefer suretype so I have the 8110. Doesn’t mean I don’t sell a TON of curves and iPhones. Doesn’t mean I won’t sell the bold, or this thing when it breaks on at&t.

Peter, just a little fyi, AT&T themselves are not (and have not) made anything on the iPhone. Apple is the only party benefiting on sales. AT&T ‘just sells the phone’ but all profit is going pretty much straight to Apple. THAT was the main reason that Verizon passed it. Well, that and the fact that Apple didn’t want Get It Now and didn’t want the iPhone to be connected to any of their services. Apple is the only party claiming profit and AT&T isn’t making anything. Even the reps will tell you they get paid far less for selling an iPhone than any other product in the store and has it to do with how much of a cut Apple got in the deal.
Now, with the 3G iphone that ‘may’ end up being a different story since the rumors are suggesting that it might get subsidized into AT&T. At that point, they may make profit.
Do you think AT&T was selling refurbished iPhones for their health? No, they were selling them because it was the only profit they made from having the product.

Huge pickup for VZW, this device will kill the 3G iPod with a phone built-in, secondly for those who keep associating VZW with crippling there devices obviously know NOTHING about smartphones and how they work on the verizon network.
Verizon does NOT touch there smartphones in ANYWAY, they restrict the GPS where it will only work with there services, but if your crying about using live search, you CAN use it with pretty much ALL smartphones, so if you want an alternative there you go, hands down BB chose verizon for the network reliability, AT&T barely has 3G rolled out and Verizon’s 3G network is all across the US, so for those of you who graduated from Business school for dummies, dont forget to put those degrees in there rightful frames.
