LG VX9700 Dare for Verizon Caught in the Wild

Back in March when we first told you about the LG VX9700 that would be making its way to Verizon Wireless, a brief but interesting conversation took place in the comments section. It went something like this:

my brother said there is no VX9700 coming out for verizon, he hasnt even heard of it, and hes the store manager there, he did say the EnV 2 is supposed to come out this month.

your brother is an idiot

Now we’re not necessarily agreeing that the guy’s brother is an idiot, but the image above speaks volumes. In the midst of 3G iPhone-mania, there will still be no iPhone coming to CDMA carriers anytime soon. Maybe you don’t care, maybe you do or maybe you pretend not to care. Whatever the case may be, Verizon does care and it continues to snatch up, shall we say, iPhone-inspired devices like the LG VX9700 Dare. That’s said, the Dare does indeed look pretty darn smooth. Word is the touchy-feely EVDO-packing Dare will be making its way to a Verizon store near you sometime in July. What do you think, drool or drop?

I just got a confirmation on the release date for this REAL “iPod Killer”:

    JULY 4 ,2008

It will be running at approximately 179.99

Fortunately, when upgrading your phone, you will pay all but HALF of the retail price, due to an upcoming special offer that Verizon Wireless will be hosting.

“The thing this DOESNT have is a capacitive touch screen with multi-touch”

As far as multi-touch, your are absolutely correct. However, if you are saying (like many Iphone lovers do) that some how capacitive technology is superior to pressure sensitive screens your an idiot. I dont know how times this myth has to be shot down. There is no advantage between capacitive technology and pressure sensitive technology. The reason apple touch screen works so well has absolutely nothing to do with the capacitive screen, it has to do with the build quality and the UI. Apple could have done a pressure sensitive screen and it would have turned out just as well. If that had happened all of these clueless Iphone fanboys would be telling us how much more advanced pressure sensitive screens are. If you think capacitive screens are so advanced, to check out how much the Samsung Glyde’s capacitive screen sucks. And by all accounts so far, the Dare’s touch screen is really impressing people. The fact is, your can make great capacitive screens, and terrible capacitive screens (same with pressure sensitive) and it has nothing to do with the technology.

I work for VZW, i have seen the Dare and have used it. It is so much better than the Iphone. I hate the Iphone.. ATT/Cingular wont even let u put insurance on it, so if u break it, u are out of luck. Vzw lets u put insurance on your new phones. We have technicians that can fix phones, ATT dont. VZW is the best cell phone company in the world. If u disagree, your just jealous cuz you couldnt pass our credit check.. We want quality people, not people with bad credit who wont pay their bills. dont be haters
