Windows Mobile 6.1 coming to Verizon Samsung i760
The Samsung i770 may be the talk of the town at the moment, but it looks like the current i760 might be getting a little bit of love before it gets phased out. Rumor has it that the i760 will be the recipient of a fresh Windows Mobile 6.1 update sometime this month. Carriers are beginning to roll out the 6.1 updates in earnest, so this seems entirely plausible, though we don’t have any specifics in terms of an actual date. We’re still betting on the upcoming i770 as the real prize in Verizon’s future lineup, but this should hold you over until you can get your hands on the new model.

The i760 looks a lot better than the i770. That doesn’t happen a lot.

I read the PPT that engadget.com had. It said that both the i760 is getting it (woo hoo, I own this one!), and the 6800 should be getting it. Although, the slidedeck/ppt said a may release for the 6.1 update for the 6800, but…it can still happen.

Too bad Verizon can’t get the latest greatest like the iphone or better yet the new i900 coming out towards the end of the year. wm6, 5mp camera, 8 or 16GB built in memory GPS to name a few bells and whistles. It seems like Verizon gets 2nd and 3rd pick on new technology lately. They need to get rid the group selecting the phones. It’s bad enough they nickel and dime for all the services offered. The phone service is 2nd to none. they would have alot more happier customers if they followed sprint with the everything plans and had a couple decent PDA phones.

Also called both companies and they say they have no knowledge of an upcoming WM 6.1 Update for the i760. LOL Joke was on us all lol….Know maybe more people will stop getting excited over fake photos of supposed wm 6.1 coming for the i760.
