Tony Hawk Sidekick LX LE launches in July, adds video recording, other features
So, you’re on the edge of seat waiting for this fabled Tony Hawk Sidekick LX to launch, huh? Good news for you then, because we just got the full scoop on it! The device will be “previewed” starting tomorrow but won’t go on sale until mid July. Beginning tomorrow, however, you’ll start to see it on Sidekick.com and “all over the news media.” The phone supposedly has a “skateboard look and feel with a grip-tape-texture and his well known hawk graphic.” Here’s where it gets interesting for all you Sidekick lovers, though — the device will ship with video recording capability, something called play and share (obviously sharing the recorded videos), stereo Bluetooth support, easier downloads and more themes and background personalization options. This summer, all Sidekick LX customers will get that OTA and be in video heaven.

and its an ok phonee for a chick, especially if your a skateer chick.
It may not have 3G…but it can do MMS, Cut and Paste, has stereo bluetooth, has a flash for its camera and can do Video now…gee Apple how can a little kids phone do all the basics that are like 90% of what we use are phones for and YOU CAN’T -STILL!. All those other apps, get used 10 to maybe 15% of the time. SideKicks still rule and when it does come 3G and it will, Your the one who is going to just look like another phone..touch screen or not.

idk…i like sk i had the LX but i grew tired of it too quickly..i love the fact that this 1 has video but its an ugly ass phone…imma go with the blackberry bold on this 1

IMO, Blackberries are simply the most reliable device out there for e-mail, and otherwise, they’re decent too (still loving my 8700). At the same time, the SK is hands-down, the ultimate (especially the LX) when it comes to a usable keyboard and IM. I’d love to see the RIM/BB OS on the SK, or at least their push mail technology. I used a SK ID for a short time, but was disappointed with the long delays in receiving e-mail. As seems to always be the case, there’s no single perfect phone, but I think both the Blackberry and SK devices are at the top of the heap in their respective markets.
This seems great. I’m actually starting to regret purchasing my iPhone, seeing as how it doesn’t have basic features. I’d like to see them have picture text messaging, text forwarding, etc etc. They still have a lot of work to do.
As for the color scheme, just send it in to colorware if it’s such a big deal to you. The sidekick is a great phone, but I find it a bit too big as well….

the sidekick lx can already play videos a couple people have sent videos to my phone and it plays kinda slow..but still works =/
seriously I agree if you dont like the sk why leave comments? but anyways the upgrades are gonna make the phone better.
