Rogers launches BlackBerry Pearl 8120 with UMA

Rogers and RIM have just announced the launch of the BlackBerry 8120 on the Canadian carrier’s network. The phone, which has been available worldwide for quite some time now, is compatible with Rogers’ UMA VOIP network which is similar in form and function to T-Mobile’s Hotspot@Home stateside. The handset also sports the usual rundown of Pearl 2 features including a 3.5 mm headset jack, external microSD card, and some other trinkets, but unless you’ve been dying for Wi-Fi calling on your SureType device, there’s nothing here that should make you too excited. As always, Rogers’ attempts to lock you in for 3 years, offering the the handset for $149.99 Canadian with a 36 month contract including BlackBerry data service, though you can still snag the device on a 1 or 2 year contract for a bit more scratch.
