Dumb iPhone rumor…
Ok, so we got an email late last night that said, “The apple 5th avenue store is closing tommorow from 1pm-9am which is the longest closing of the store in history, The Iphone is being released Friday May 30th at 9am and is being announced at the 5th avenue store at that time, when alerted of the event we were told that we must be held to strict confidentiality, this directly explains the depleted stock that has taken the US by storm. Do not regard this as fake information, and please keep my email address confidential I only share this information because i love your blog and feel that yours would be the best to release the information on, I am highly regarded in the corporation and cannot afford to lose my job.”
As you can see, we didn’t really take this seriously. One has to wonder though, with the 5th Ave Apple store actually being closed right now, does it give this tip some credibility? We can’t imagine an iPhone being released tomorrow without hearing anything more, but we figured we’d post this for informational purposes. Thoughts?

The only phone I’d stand in a line for would be the ‘Dream’, running Google’s Android. Saw it yesterday. wow.
Nonetheless, I see many people camping in front of the aforementioned store based on this BS.
@Ketchup
Learn how to use the word “too” then you might be accepted for your opinion rather than being regarded as an illiterate twat.
word…
Benji’s post was spot on…
Nothing like a good bowl of bullshit fed to me with a spoonful of bashing.
i believe the commercial BS. sounds most credible. or maybee the orkin man…
@ dand – hahahaha. XD the Orkin man.
anyway, i’m looking forward to this commercial. perhaps its demonstrating the interconnectivity of Apple’s products. the current iPhone commercials show how useful the device is. with rumors of a tablet mac/big iPhone and a newly revamped .mac system that’s my guess.
anyone else have a thought?

I personally am waiting with baited breath for this thing to show it’s face.
Benji:
The FCC has the ability to have filings which are not made public until the company that filed says it’s okay to do it (or the product is released, whichever comes first).
http://www.wireless.att.com/business/iphone – the coporate rate iphone website down for maintanence in progress maybe to include info on exchange capabilities???
Companies can file a “NDA” with the FCC to keep the information confidential. It still goes through the usual rounds though.
don’t care either way
Doesn’t the FCC have to approve the device before they can sell it because of the new 3G radio?
yeah
Well i have no idea wat he is talking about… i have a blackjack and mine is all scratched up and ive never enev dropped mine.i HATE it…. Ketchup nice bluff
obviously a commericial is being filmed there but idk if its iPhone related. guess we will find out whether or not this guy is lying tomorrow….
With all the rumors floating around, it’s getting close to a new iphone release. did anyone else see the pic icon in the newest iphone sdk where it shows an iphone icon and the icon looks different than the current iphone.
To cP, ROTFLMAO is an anagram for “Rolling On The Floor Laughing My A$$ Off”
lol
the pics of the filming at the store are really cool any news on the black cases labeled “Anonymous 5+4. that were seen going into the store.
A Black iphone would be soo cool w/t 3G and cam for video chat
or all white back
seriously how come M$ ,dell, or HP ‘t made or have not made aanti apple ad
Well, I don’t know what’s going on, but I just came home from seeing a movie (10pm) at the Century Cinemas in San Francisco and passed the Apple store.
There were two workers with drills in hand either removing graffiti or drilling holes in the window.
So, are they are drilling holes for a new display or removing graffiti before a launch of a new product – coincidence?
[no I am NOT an Apple fan boy!]
this might be fake but AT&T website is down also
just post the guys email address instead.
I doubt they’d just roll it out at 5th Ave, and not close the SoHo store too and do a splash there too.
my question is why close the 5th ave store & keep employees inside just to say they are close why not just not answer the phones or have them transfered to apple corp lines or another store. also the Soho store is not open 24/7. 5th ave is the global flagship store. they had an overnight crew there stocking up the iPhones & planning on how to present them to customers.
