Dumb iPhone rumor…
Ok, so we got an email late last night that said, “The apple 5th avenue store is closing tommorow from 1pm-9am which is the longest closing of the store in history, The Iphone is being released Friday May 30th at 9am and is being announced at the 5th avenue store at that time, when alerted of the event we were told that we must be held to strict confidentiality, this directly explains the depleted stock that has taken the US by storm. Do not regard this as fake information, and please keep my email address confidential I only share this information because i love your blog and feel that yours would be the best to release the information on, I am highly regarded in the corporation and cannot afford to lose my job.”
As you can see, we didn’t really take this seriously. One has to wonder though, with the 5th Ave Apple store actually being closed right now, does it give this tip some credibility? We can’t imagine an iPhone being released tomorrow without hearing anything more, but we figured we’d post this for informational purposes. Thoughts?

don’t see apple releasing a major product like this through a store before announcing to investors and the public.
They are filming a TV commercial at the store.

Also, they’re maybe supposedly filming an iPhone Deux commercial in the all closed up store:

Lol, yeah. You can see why we held off on posting it. I saw the MacRumors thing, but I just can’t see why they’d film something there. It’s just a store underground, and kind of unimpressive once you get past the glass box…

It might not be a iphone, but a new mac product people.
I have been by the store and there is some pretty serious stuff set up. There were panavision trucks and what looked like crew members for whatever production it is looking at floor plans for the cube. Most likely another commerical but you never know with Apple.
i dont see why people like the iphone so much its to delicate and its all touch screen i like to feel my fingers pushibng buttons and not worrying about droping my phone my blackjack has survived 7 major drops on concrete out my car window. try that with an iphone it will be in little pieces, ill only buy an iphone if the glass is saphaire like in high end watchs and the metal case is reinforced.

This is complete trash, besides only an idiot would stand in line for an iPhone, when we all know they will have plenty of stock on hand (see: previous iPhone release).
A new beta of the iPhone SDK is out, and does require an upgrade to Mac OS to 10.5.3. From the SDK readme
Beta release 6 requires the Leopard 10.5.3 software update and is incompatible with other OS releases and pre-release software. This release fixes many bugs and adds support for the latest iPhone OS.
