As if we needed any more evidence of the impending arrival of the Sidekick Gekko, HipTop3.com got their hands on several pages from the handset’s product manual. The manual confirms a number of details about the Gekko, including the presence of a 2 megapixel camera, wide-screen LCD, replaceable bumpers and shells, and on-board video support. We’re still waiting on live shots of a breathing prototype, but the rumored launch date is close enough that we’re sure something will surface soon enough.

Why not get it? Some people like the color customization. Not to mention…wider screen, 2.0MPX camera and video support is some significant upgrades over the current SK offerings. Granted, video support will be OTA for the LX at least soon. I am sure Slide will follow. Now we just need approximate size dimensions, weight, and a price point to seal the deal.

I’m giving up on my Sidekick and getting the SonyEricson XPERIA or HTC Diamond Touch when they drop. I’m tired of all of the limitations on the Sidekick.

why doesnt at&t try to snag this one up. I would buy it from at&t because at&t already has a 3g network so it would make perfect sense if this sidekick has 3g for it to go to at&t.

T-Mobile has exclusive rights to sell the Hiptop(Sidekick) devices here in the US so AT&T grabbing one of these up won’t happen. The video support should have been included with the LX but hopefully there will be an OTA update. Personally, I don’t see myself upgrading to this.

Am I late to the party or does having a LEFT/RIGHT shoulder button, a directional pad and track ball, look like gaming phone like the oft-rumored (but never delivered) PSP phone?
Is Microsoft going to slap some games on here ala the Zune since they now own Danger?
Am I reading too much into this or did I miss something that’s already been covered?
