Yes, it’s all SE’s fault for not tailoring their product to T-mo… how about this, if you don’t like the T-mobile phones that are availiable change your provider (isn’t a free market such an amaizing thing?). Thats ok, just complain when a company doesn’t bend over backwards to work on a single market segment to make you happy; in the end its all about you and your sense of entitlement… THere is the other possibility though, that perhaps they have an arrangment with AT&T and will disribute the phone through them as an exclusive contract (ala iPhone).

Yeah, this is pretty confusing. The white paper makes no mention of 1700 (AWS) support but the product page still has it listed. Considering AWS frequencies are being adopted in Central and South America too it would be smart to include. I am also baffled that Sony would allow a SE branded phone to be released with a micro SD slot instead of a MS micro slot. I guess we’ll have to wait until the phone is release to see what the specs. really are.

This phone is going to be a very revolutionary handset. And I would almost stake my life on it that this baby will becoming to t-mobile. All the reviews and data from the phones very limited debut in its beta stages (being that the hardware is finalized) from places like the cebit stop do say device will have 1700. And if you follow the company jargon from Robert Dobson himself, t-mo will be releasing an “iPhone killer” in second half 08…. Anyone smell SE back with t-mobile again. Minus the N95 8gb I think that is would be the only device that they can market as better then the iPhone. What are they going to have? The Shadow two which comes in two appealing colors of poop. Old person and baby poop. SIGN EXSCLUSIVE for once tmobile!

Congrats, SE! You just lost the entire T-Mobile market. I was planning to purchase two, one for me and one for the wife. Now I’m looking at the Nokia E71 (and saying a prayer that they’re smarter than SE) or the BB Bold. Buh-bye SE.

I’m actually surprised that Handset manufacturers are not making Quad Band Data radios ((850/900/1700/1800/1900Mhz). Its been pretty well publicized that Tmobile will finally be launching it this year, and that they have committed significant resources for the nationwide rollout. Why would I spend $800+ on a handset knowing I couldn’t operate it on any network that I wanted? I think the fact that not one manufacturer has stepped up to the plate (with the exception of RIM’s BOLD) is pretty poor product planning. Actually its pretty stupid, but of course what company is listening to their customers needs anyways.

sonyericcson.com/x1 still shows the 1700 band under technical facts. I don’t understand what the hell is going on. SE them self has given out misleading information in emails to individuals seeking clarification. One thing is certain, I will be very upset if there is no T-Mobile AWS compatible version.

What can I say other then love at first sight. The xperia continues to impress me.

As the article mentioned, 10 hours of talk over GSM and 6.5 over 3G is impressive. Theres also alot of other features that make me want to break into Sony Ericsson’s HQ like the panel system, an awesome camera, video recording and the sexy slide action…

The Xperia website shows under the technical facts that both versions have the 1700mhz band…so why would they all of a sudden change it?
