HTC Touch Dual finally coming to Best Buy this weekend
The long wait is over. HTC and Best Buy are finally getting ready to make the North American version of the HTC Touch Dual available to U.S. customers. The handset will be on sale at Best Buy retail locations, on the Best Buy website, and through any specialized Best Buy Mobile store. The big news here is that the Touch Dual will come complete with Windows Mobile 6.1, making it one of the first handsets on the market to sport the revamped operating system. Other highlights include HSDPA, 2 megapixel camera, and HTC’s soon-to-be-obsolete TouchFLO interface. Expect to shell out $549 before tax.
Sweet. I’m getting one; it will be worth the wait.

Will it come with video drivers?
Unlocked for all U.S. GSM cellphone service providers.

to ian: no wifi included in this model it is the same as the european model except 850/1900 hsdpa/3g instead of 2100

Shit $549? That’s almost as bad as xpansys want for the Diamond. ($919.95 before tax on pre-order)

Has anyone found the touch dual in stock anywhere? I ordered it off the website 11 days ago and it’s still on backorder. Thanks in advance for any help.

got mine at the bb in plymouth meeting PA saturday morning. they had at least 10 of them… but I had to gumt it down as its not out for show.

Thanks for the feedback. So how do you like it? I assume it was in the cellphone section? I called a store yesterday and they didn’t show it in stock @ customer service. The website still says it’s not in stock. I guess you have to go in the store and ask about it in person?

K’now whats weird? If you go to the BB site and go to the HTC Touch Dual’s page, and right near where it (still) says to pre-order, you see an “Estimate Shipment Date” thing. If you click on that, it says estimated shipping is 5/4/08-5/10/08 or something like that. Should we make more out of that or just leave it as a typo?

Went to Best Buy in Chicago on Sunday and they didn’t have it in stock. I was told to check back on Wednesday.
With the popularity of the original Touch, I expect this one to do even better with the slideout blackberry style keyboard.

zippy1901 – I like it a lot. Its taking some getting used to the 20 ket setup it has, but its working out fine.
Yes I did get it in their phone section. Not all BB’s sell unlocked phones – so you need to ask. I was at one and asked if they would be getting it in and they told me this tidbit and which stores in the Philadelphia, PA area actually resell the unlocked phones. So one may not have it, because they never resell them.
