3G iPhone Release Date Allegedly Confirmed
Let the games begin. Or should we say, let the games continue? It has long since been predicted that WWDC will bring with it an official announcement and introduce the world to the next-generation iPhone that we’ve all been waiting for. New word comes from “sources close to the 3G iPhone launch” that June 9th, the first day of WWDC, will in fact be the day that the Jobsinator announces the new iPhone. We know what you’re thinking; “A 3G iPhone… I had no idea!” Hard to believe, we know. In terms of a launch schedule, the US might have access to the reincarnation of the Jesus phone a week or two before most other regions but the scheduling should be pretty close. There’s also word that the policy shackles in terms of pricing and other restrictions will likely escape the new model and carriers will be able to subsidize the handset, at least to an extent. Speculate all you want; at this point we’re seemingly less than four weeks away from Apple’s big day. We hope you called June 9th in the contest post so you have a chance of scoring yourself some free 3G iPhone love!

Apple should be contracted to head up the Department of Homeland Security. I’ve never seen a company so capable of controlling information so well this close to an impending launch date. So, perhaps the new question of the day is WHEN will we have confirmation that June 9th is the launch?

BG, I thought the contest was for the day you can physically pick one up. Do you think it will go on sale on the 9th? That would be great, but I’m thinking announced on the 9th and for sale a few days or couple of weeks later.

Made my best stock trade of the year when Jobs took the stage for the potential launch of iPhone1.
Jobs started by talking about the iMac successes and said “That all we’re going to talk about the iMac today.”
Then some Ninja reports “There’s is no iPhone today, he said he’s only going to talk about the iMac today.”
The stock falls 7 points in a flash, as Jobs gets ready to intro the phone, and someone tells me the Ninjas have it wrong. We buy.
Then Jobs whips it out.
Stock jumps 10.
Ah, subtle language error, by overanxious geek.

I’ve NEVER seen so much free publicity!! Amazing. If it’s out by June 9th- that gives it a full month+ to beat out the Blackberry Bold in new tempting phones. It will trump that device anyways on the hundreds of games and new programs coming soon…

Apple might very well confirm the release of 3G iPhone on June 9th and release it a week or so later.
Which means the AT&T email to employees make sense.

Bad news for Apple fanboys, you gotta wait ’til late August. Come back and check this post and you’ll see I told you so.
Apple’s stock will plummet on June 9th simply because of all the clowns who created a firestorm of rumors as to when they think the next iphone is coming out. Good job.

“Will the 3G iphone have GPS?”
That’s the buzz.
I read they might have a windshield mount, since the screen is big enough to see by drivers.

I just love it when some dork makes a posts like this without citing any source or any thread of evidence that he knows what he’s talking about. Talk about “clowns”. The bottom line is that you don’t know $hit and make posts like this to make you sound like some “inside guy in the know”…
ALL the fact point to a release date next month but even if your are correct, I doubt that Apples stock will plummet and people will give up on the iPhone. Hell, Microsoft never delivers a product on schedule but that doesn’t stop people from buying it when it does.
Idiot….

Since mid-March, Apple Inc. and its logistics partners have imported 188 ocean containers of a product type never before declared on its shipping manifests.
With iPhones currently out of stock at many Apple stores, including its flagship outlets in New York City, rumors abound that the company is winnowing stocks in preparation for a new 3G version of the phone.
Last month Citi analysts Richard Gardner and Yeechang Lee predicted that Apple would announce the new 3G iPhone at its June 9th World Developers Conference in San Francisco. Meanwhile, Dvice.com reports that AT&T has told its employees that they cannot take vacation time from June 15 to July 12 to enable full staffing for an “exciting Summer Promotional Launch.”

I just read an article in today’s NY Post that claims that Apple is putting the pressure on Blackberry tomorrow with the release of Iphone 2.0. I’d also heard the 9th from a AT&T Corporate account rep. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
