These comments remind me of a nineties phenomenon called “Team Bill Gates” which was a group of nerds in matching polo shirts who went around saying nice but untrue things about their idol and generally raising awareness but without facts.

As with these apparently serious comments about the quality and stability of Vista, I can’t help but wonder whether there’s a really, really deep sarcasm at work. So deep.

God I can’t believe the posts claiming Vista/Windows stability in general over Mac. Obviously posted by MS Fanboys. As a long time user of both systems, Windows, Vista included, is far more unstable than any other OS I run, including homemade linux distros. I used WinMo for years as well and to boast that some future unreleased version of WM ie version 7 is going to kill the OSX/iPhone OS is just laughable.

There is no scenario that Windows, the way it’s currently built, will ever out perform or be more stable than an OS based on UNIX/Linux/BSD platforms. End users may THINK that but IT professionals know better. Most of my colleagues are running Windows virtualized on either a Linux or Mac pc/latop.

Guess what. It runs better! Even MS has all but admitted the failure of Vista as a viable, stable OS. That’s why they are trying to rush out the next release.

yea it evever snv finder 7 an macos it macs crash lik crazy th firs thing you locat on ANY appl computer is the power button/switch caus your going to be using it alot to reset themaching when it crashes/freezes

Same experience here. Mac users have it in their brains for some reason that Vista crashes a lot – it pretty much NEVER crashes on a machine that meets the specs needed to run it. I have Leopard on an iMac and Vista on an Optiplex on my desk, and Leopard has not only more crashes, but more patches than Vista.

They say that the “magic bullet” theory of people not being able to resist the allure of the media is false, but you sure can’t tell in the USA.

As if the iPhone’s normal UI is that of Mac OS X on an actual Apple computer–apples and oranges, no pun intended.

That being said, Windows still crashes for people? I think ever since Windows 2000 that hasn’t been the case, at least for those who actually understand how to use a computer normally. Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (and even without it) works just fine, especially when it comes to this “crashing/freezing” thing (I probably have seen more Macs crash/freeze lately than Windows machines).

The screenshots on the site look pretty good, but I’d like to see a true mobile implementation of Vista, and not WM 6.1 either. Maybe 7?
