RIM announcing $150M “iFund” at WES?

WES is right around the corner, and more info is beginning to trickle in by the hour. We were first told about this a couple days ago, but it seemed too unlike RIM to be true. After multiple independent confirmations, we’re comfortable telling you that RIM is set to announce a $150M fund which will aide developers in coding applications for the BlackBerry platform. You might remember that Apple did this with a $100M "iFund" a little while back. Our only question is, no matter how much money you throw at the developers, will they really develop applications without an upgraded SDK and actual APIs? (Way more APIs than what is available now.) Maybe RIM is going to explore on just that as well. Now, can someone tell me what the hell is going on please? I feel fine, but my dog just told me that I’m taking crazy pills.

I like how Android stirred up the competitive juices. Apple, Blackberry and Android are all trying to outdo eachother which leads to greater options for consumers.

I’d say that’s about $205,600,000 dollars, €200,000 euros and $157,000 pesos.
That’s money found in a house in Mexico City which supposedly comes from the sale of metamphetamines in the US.
