Guitar Hero: On Tour Now Available for Pre-order
All you Guitar Hero fanatics out there will be happy to know that we’re one step closer to D-day and now you can guarantee that you’re one of the first people to get your hands on the upcoming new release. On Tour, the first Guitar Hero game for Nintendo DS, is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com. Sure you might look silly rocking out on your DS while you’re waiting for the subway, but don’t let that stop you. Ported by Vicarious Visions, the lab that brought us the Tony Hawk and Spider Man series as well as Guitar Hero III on the Wii, has teamed up with Red Octane to package the game with a controller cartridge that provides four play buttons. Users must tap each appropriate button in time with the song and displayed pattern in order to score points. Of course it’s not quite as cool as having a giant plastic guitar to play along with but that would defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it? The cleverly named Guitar Hero: On Tour is scheduled to drop on June 22nd and will set you back $49.99.

Can’t say as though I’m overly impressed with the lineup thus far - the target market for the DS is different than that of the average console gamer.
I’m still excited and this will definately be a June purchase for me though.

That’s stupid. Any serious GH player who wants to go on the road will do it acoustically like that kid on the South Park episode.

having to strum on the screen while hitting the correct buttons seems like it will be pretty hard for people with smaller hands from the gameplay videos i have seen.
