Verizon Curve in the wild

Looking for a litle Verizon Curve fix before Friday’s official launch? We’ve got you covered. Nothing earth shattering here, though. Just a couple of pictures to verify that this thing is, in fact, real and that it will be launching soon never hurt anyone. Specs remain the same, and a year or so late arrival, well, remains the same. That said, we’re still secretly excited for this thing to launch into the American CDMA world, though we’re not entirely sure why. Couple more shots after the jump!

    I wish AT&T would make a 3G version of the Curve. I like it better than the 9000.

    Got mine yesterday from a phone order placed Monday. Everything seems as advertised and as a Verizon honk, I’m very happy to finally have this on CDMA. I had an 8703e and have been eying this release since the very first BGR post over a year ago when it was called “Daytona”.

    Pretty cool that it comes with the “Blackberry Pocket.” I had to buy it separately for my 8300.

    Does it capture video? I read some posts that it did, but its relatives with other carriers don’t.

    @Radio

    Are you looking at the same product? Your “No” list is only 1/3 right.

    1) No Wifi - right! But you do get EVDO. I wonder what exactly you would use wifi for since this device doesn’t stream media AND would be useless without a Blackberry data plan. Maybe VoIP?
    2) No GPS - wrong.
    3) No 3G - wrong. However, it is odd that it’s EVDO Rev 0 and not Rev A. Not software upgradable either (unlike some of the HTC products that were released Rev 0 initially but with Rev A hardware.

    But the GPS is crippled and not even working for VZ Navigator. It has EVDO but the processor is so weak you won’t really notice faster browser speeds. Same as the wifi berrys now. The wifi does little in the way of faster browsing because of the slow processor. Tethering and faster downloading of attachments will be the only real use of 3G on the blackberry. Now the 9000 will have a processor that will provide a better web based experience. And a working GPS chip.

    Evilhomer, the GPS is working with Verizon Nav, and the processor is just fine for web browsing. It still isnt as good as the iphone’s safari browser.. but the processor speed isn’t making it slow at all. Actually the verizon 8330 has more ram in it compared to the att and tmobile units.

    the GPS works fine with VZnav, I don;t knwo were all you gusy get your hatred of false info, but VZnav has worked on all the verizon blackberrys for some time now, and going forward RIM liked it enough to include it on devices going forward.

    I think it’s funny that now VZW users can now say “Ha! We’re as good as you now” after the phone has been released a year earlier. If I wanted to wait a year to get the newest technology I’d…well…I wouldn’t want to wait a year!

    I just ordered the Curve this morning utilizing my B2B discount. I paid $104 + $35 in tax, on top of that I get a $50 mail in rebate. $90 when its all said and done. I think that’s a great price considering how new this phone is to Verizon.

    It’s not 100% identical to the other Curves, as it sports 96mb internal memory instead of 64mb.
