BlackBerry 8330 Coming to Verizon on Friday

It’s ok, you can say it… Finally! Verizon Wireless customers won’t have to wait much longer for the BlackBerry Curve 8330 that we’ve known to be coming to the nation’s largest CDMA carrier for quite some time. Of course this news is a bit overshadowed by all of the BlackBerry juice we’ve been feeding you lately, but it will still come as good news to those of you waiting for a solid upgrade on VZW. According to several reports and a bunch of emailed tips we’ve received (thanks guys), here’s how it’ll go down:
- Friday, May 9th: 8330 available through B2B, telephone sales and on the web
- Monday, May 12th: 8330 available through all other channels
The price point will reportedly be at $270 after a $50 rebate with a 2-year contract and $440 without a contract. Not bad at all; you VZW people excited or still irked that it’s taken this long? We also have heard of people getting orders through already. Anyone’s Curve shipped yet?

well I ordered one when it was on verizons website Sunday, before it was taken down.
ATT does not have this phone.. sure its a 8300 series, but its also on their slow edge, has no camcorder, and no mms (i think).
Sprints version also has no mms.
so thats why I decided to go with verizons.

So VZW’s version has video? Nice. Thought we had to wait until the “new” OS was released. Good news. Anyone get there’s yet? What’s the silver/black look like in person?

I dialed 611 from my phone this morning and the woman quoted me $219.99 but then looked at the computer again and said she could not sell me the phone until Friday…no dice.:(
I called back this afternoon and got another lady that quoted me $219.99. She was going to process the order when she put me on hold for 2 minutes…when she came back she gave me another discount for some advanced device discount, bringing the price down to $127.19. Plus there is still the $50 mail-in which brings the grand total to $77.19. With free shipping she said it should be here by Thursday.
Keep calling back!

I’d like to see screen caps of your orders… I don’t believe they have them for sale yet. I called 611 twice and have looked all over verizon’s website… all i found was a press release for the phone from march.

I like how some of you actually think it was VERIZON who was delaying the launch of this device. because you know a carrier would like nothing more than to delay launching devices.
it was no coincidence that all the CDMA curves came out at the same time. just as it will not be any coincidence that the new touch screen BB will be CDMA only.
The makers(RIM) are the ones with the exclusive deals per carrier and network.
I like how you idiots think you know so much, but in reality you know nothing haha

Ok, STRIKE 3. Guess I’ll have to wait til Friday or whenever….. Customer Service refuses to even try stating that their warehouses don’t even have the phones available. Did anyone ACTUALLY receive theirs today?

PERSISTENCE is the KEY! If you really need it now or in a few days acutally, use the 800-922-0204 number and tell them to make sure they enter the sku. IT IS THERE. If they search for anything like “curve” or just “8330″ it won’t come up in their system. I had a very nice lady help me out.

Just read the fine print people - that VZ Navigator is the only GPS enabled app on the BB 8830 and 8330 - not bad if you want to pay for their service.
