Handango Leaks Xperia X1 Release Info
Handango apparently decided to take a break from its busy schedule of screwing developers over… to screw Sony Ericsson over. In it’s latest pertner newsletter, Handango apparently decided that drumming up business was more important than handset embargos. And why wouldn’t it be? In an open call seeking "the best products" to include with Handango InHand, an on-device sales portal that Handango has worked onto the X1. Beyond blatantly stating that "the Xperia X1 will launch mid-September 2008," Handango was also kind enough to give us a possible idea as to the markets that the X1 will be hitting early. The text states that software must support the X1’s WVGA screen as well as the English, French, German, Italian and Spanish languages. Sweet, thanks Handango.

SE’s already said September and US launch first. No real news here.
Everything sounds pretty good about the X1, but I hear that the screen resolution isn’t up to snuff…why would SE do that?

It’s pretty much been known the X1 would be released in September since it was announced earlier this year.
It would have been nice if they leaked the price and what carrier it was going to be on
Actually it’s original statement by SE stated they would be launching it “summer”. September aint Summer. trust me, i’ve kept up with this little bad boy……
My Tmob 8320 came with the Handango crap preinstalled too… Guess they are trying to become one of the first “universally” preloaded apps on smartphones. Ugh..
I love the X1 however Handango are a bunch of cheats.
I am one of their affiliates and every time I have asked for a break down in clicks / revenue they have not replied. I have been asking for over a year now.
It’s strange how I have increased advertising traffic for them yet I receive exactly the same every quarter. What gives?
I’m only keeping them onboard because the money that I do actually get is reasonable but there is no proof in how they arrived at the figure.

i don’t know what you guys are saying… sony has not announced the release of this phone until recently. Initially it was claimed to be released in the ’second half of 2008.’ Erricson’s development team showed in a powerpoint presentation that it will be released in the 4th quarter of 2008. That could be anywhere from September to December.
I have just bought the X1 on pre order here in Sweden from PC City for 6000 SEK (900USD, 450GBP, 630EUR). I have looked around at variouys retailers here that seem to put delivery in mid October. They were all pretty accurate with my N95 the last time round!
