Sidekick Gekko shows its face

Remember that new Sidekick we told you about a couple of days ago? What was previously a faceless name has revealed itself. The new T-Mobile device appears to take direct cues from the Sidekick ID, sporting flamboyantly colorful bumpers accenting the outside of the handset. The phone is rumored to sport the same Sharp LCD screen that is currently installed on the Sidekick LX, which is a pretty good thing if you ask us. No further word on pricing, but if this one is looking to step in where the ID left off, it better have the bargain basement price tag to prove it.
A I want a sidekick with more useful features. Once there’s an open source sidekick with a touchscreen, document editor and 3g, I’ll take one.

PERSONALLY, IF THE LE TONY HAWK SIDEKICK LOOKS HOT I WOULD PREFER THAT OVER THIS “SIDEKICK ID 2.”I’M YOUNG AND I TEXT ALOT, SO THE SK IS WHAT I’M INTO RIGHT NOW. I’VE HAD THE DASH AND THE WING, BOTH ARE GREAT PHONES,BUT THE SK IS JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLE AND THAT’S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT.

Looks like they’re just painting the bumpers and calling it a new model. Kinda lame IMHO, but hey, if they’re still selling well then flog if for all it’s worth!

i currently have an id….but im gettin da new scarlet slide….i think da new id we b a good idea becuz alot of yung people dat has an id…wants da slim look of an lx…and now they are able to get dat…so i think its a good idea

Well it looks good but they are saying that if these is gonna be the new id well obviously the slide and lx are still gonna be better but we don’t know the specs of it. I am using my sidekick lx to write this comment.

okay looks great im sure the price will be affordable too, BUT can someone plz get into dangers head that we want a new model with actual new features!

well i kinda like the look of it, but i think ill stick to my lx. now if they were to make a sidekick with 3g AND make it have all the basic common features of 3rd rate phones, then id upgrade. =)

it’ll be okayyy not that bad; stop worrying about the 3G the sales pitch looks like its gonna keep making people upgrade phone then when they really hit with the 3G ect it’ll hit; look what they did with the tony hawk Lx pple! they’re just bringing everything in slow & bringing in $ fast while everyone is unleashing 3G TMOBILE is waiting =]

Danger keeps regurgitating Sidekicks with barely any new features. My sister just switched from a Sidekick 3 to an iPhone 3G. Microsoft bought a turd.

Does anyone know when the official update for OTA for the LX comes im getting impatient n just abt 2 get the Tony Hawk Ver….Danger needs to start adding better features to the SK line like a ability to watch Vids on the net!! Were in 08 we need some better features or the consumer will sadly move on….ANYONE WITH THIS OR WHAT!?

I am getting a sidekick in a couple of days, and this will be my first sidekick, and I have heard that the sidekick lx has better service/coverage than the sidekick 2008. I am just wondering if there is any truth to that. Let me know if you know. Thanks!

Well I actually in my opinion I would pick da geckko 1st its smaller 2nd its 2mgp 3rd u can customize da shell 4rth I find da speakers are louder dan lx but I actually miss da blue lights in my lx nd da flash for da camera im using my geckko nd im still using my lx nd my brother is using da id so I compared them
