AT&T, NTT DoCoMo, and Vodafone are indeed the launch carriers with AT&T having a U.S. exclusive and being the first carrier to launch worldwide. What would we do without our carrier ninjas? First yesterday’s document and now this! Shout out to y’all, you know who you are!

it’s like an iPhone with a keyboard on it. LOLCATZ!

T-mobile would never get the launch of this new phone, they are the equivalent of Primco, from 5 yrs ago which were 6 ex-netscape guys and a handful of routers in there basement. Tmobile bought them changed and the name and added a few routers. It is a true story!
Tmobile subscibers are few and far between I bet I personally know more albinos than tmobile subscribers.

3.2MP at least…..

Wow Brian, that is a bit harsh! Let’s look back now….T-Mobile did launch the Pearl first, long before At&t. I am guessing that the cost vs benefit wasn’t there so they let At&t pay the big bucks on the Curve and others. Guessing they will have it within 3 months time. Also, the $600-$900 comments, those are likely with no contract. I am thinking this phone will sell quite well regardless. Think of all the travelers right now who are stuck with no phone in Japan……

What’s the screen size?

Love the Specs. on this phone. Don’t care much for the looks of this phone.

Anyone know the 9000’s dimensions?

Has no one taken notice that it says the screen is 480X320? Either that is wrong, or that is one HUGE phone. Can we get a ruling on this BG? Its hard to believe these specs are from a legit source if that isn’t simply a typo, but lets hope a type like that wouldn’t go unnoticed for so long.

*typo* not *type*. Irony.

@ Jimmy
That’s the actual resolution. Doesn’t make it a huge phone since the ppi are so high. The iPhone I believe has the same resolution screen, just a little bit physically larger.

Wow. You’re fast, BG. I feel sheepish.

Yawn. Too little too late.

That means if I want one, I’ll have to wait approximately 2 years until Sprint gets it on CDMA, or just switch over when T-Mo gets it, and by then they will be on 3G.
Ain’t no way I’m going to AT&T….

Does anyone know when this would be available for Sprint?

In two years at best.

Which means RIM themselves are dumping standard GPS and instead going with A-GPS for all devices? Is this for real?
Which in turn would then mean more money out of end user’s pockets for use of GPS services (paid to carriers directly). we already pay the DoD for GPS services through our taxes. How is this legal?
GPS signal is free!!

We need to know a release date. My crappy Nextel contract is finally up and I have been teetering between a 3G iPhone on 6/9 or the BB9000. If RIM isn’t coming out with this until Aug/Sept, I will most likely get the iPhone because I’m that sick of Nextel.

@Brian… you obviously don’t live in Florida. T-mo is all over, despite their crappy selection of devices. Orlando and Miami are on their list of cities to roll out 3G.
However, I have to agree based on the specs, the 9000 doesn’t look like it’s going to be T-mo 3g (1700 not listed as a band) unless they come out with a different version later for T-mo.
T-mo sucks as far as 3G and devices… otherwise, they are a good provider in Fl. You can’t throw a rock without hitting a t-mo customer here.

Why on Earth would RIM deploy there latest and first 3G BB on TMO. They have the least amount of coverage of any of the big 4 in the US and are just starting to roll out their 3G network. AT&T will and should get it first.

Not even close.

yeah … i saw the rogers branding at the bottom also. anyone know if it’ll be coming there as well?

Way curious about the A-GPS. Is this a step down from the 8800? I love my Telenav, and if the 9000 is utilizing a less useful GPS chipset, it could be a deal-breaker for me.

Why on Earth would any phone manufacturer not include 1700 band radio for phones released in 2008?
No, no… don’t answer that. I’m thinking cause the device manufacturers probably didn’t believe T-mo was going to have 3G either! lol.

That is so funny and yet so sad because it is true.
