BlackBerry 9000 hard specs, you excited?
While most of this has actually been leaked and confirmed by us previously, it’s always good to get a second confirmation, right? We just a hold of the final specs for the BlackBerry 9000 (they aren’t sure if they’re going to give it a name like the Pearl or Curve). So here we go:
- Radio - GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA
- Bands - Quad-band GPRS/EDGE: 800/850/1800/1900MHz
- HSDPA: 850/1900/2100MHz (praise the lord!)
- Expandable memory - microSD
- Display - HVGA Color LCD (480×320)
- TrackBall Navigation
- Camera - 2MP (Boo!)
- Wi-Fi - a,b,g
- A-GPS
- Battery - 1500mAh
- High quality material, high-end finish
- Software - 4.6
So there you have it — full specs on the much-awaited BlackBerry 9000. Ah, the carriers! AT&T, NTT DoCoMo, and Vodafone are indeed the launch carriers with AT&T having a U.S. exclusive and being the first carrier to launch worldwide. What would we do without our carrier ninjas? First yesterday’s document and now this! Shout out to y’all, you know who you are!

Nice specs but it sure is ugly. Looks like a phone older than the curve. Kinda a step back from that standpoint IMHO.

guys, guys, guys, relax… TMO will have it… sept(27)/oct … Do you guys really think that carriers dont have this already for testing? putting UMA on it is a different monster… and TMO 3G radio… The actual launch date with ATT has been delayed…battery? nah… carrier ninjas know the truth… BB has been loyal now ATT has the iphone mistress all glossy… ATT knows how much extra for that exclusive the had to pay to RIMM … Never burn bridges and never make public your preference… Things are changing in Waterloo.. in fact guess who is going to Canada for $75 Unlimited data plan pricing…with same freq for 3G so roaming between the 2 countries will be a breeeze? RIMM is getting cozy with T-MO… there are deals being done… Done.

On my shopping list on the launch day, I will trade in or sell one of my BB8820’s. I just would like to know how much memory though.

Lord knows I want to throw my Curve away, but I’m not excited about this.

Mike D., A-GPS is NOT crap, it is BETTER than plain ‘ol GPS. It has satellite triangulation assisted by cell tower triangulation. While early A-GPS systems require a cell signal, most modern ones just use it if available to make things better (faster satellite acquisition, working in downtown Manhattan, etc.).

Did anyone notice the Canadian carrier(Rogers) branding at the bottom of the phone in the picture? this might be the first blackberry to pull me away from the Nseries.

This suXors!!!
j/k.
Makes me wonder if they’re sweating or snickering over at Apple development.

Isn’t AGPS assisted as opposed to the better GPS on the 88xx series? Is that not a step backwards? So other than 3G and a worse GPS and 4.6, nothing new huh?
