AT&T preparing green Sony Ericsson W580i

Do you prefer your mid-level slider handsets in a putrid shade of green Your lucky day may be rapidly approaching. If these leaked promo shots are any indication, the wireless carrier is gearing up to launch a green version of their popular Sony Ericsson W580i handset. As far as we can tell, there’s no change to the specs, so you’ll still be pulling in a 2 megapixel camera, Quad-Band EDGE, media player, and a way-too-cramped keypad. It’s not the greatest phone on the planet, but it’s also not the most expensive, and if lime green is your thing then it might be too good to pass up. No word on drop date or pricing, but don’t expect it to cost any more than the current W580i. Hit the jump for more shots.

Thanks, Omie!

Oh…it’s the color green. I thought it was made from a combo of recycled cans, newspaper, and hemp or that it lowers our dependance on foreign oil….

There is a reason for the color, folks. This is the first phone made from recycled materials. The case is made from Mountain Dew cans.
