MyStrands Social Player 3.1 Released; Scrobbling, new Player UI, Java App
We’ve been waiting for a long time for this update and it’s finally here! What was likely already the best music player / recommendation service available, MyStrands Social Player, has just received a major revision and trust us when we tell you, you can’t get it installed soon enough. The newly renamed Strands team has outdone themselves, and there are three key highlights to take note of:
- New native S60 application and Java version (S40-optimized) released!
- New Player UI – vastly improved interface, better controls
- Scrobbling support! Send track data to Last.fm as you listen
The post on the Strands Blog includes links to download both the native S60 app as well as the Java app. Now there’s really no reason why you can’t enjoy the complete interactive experience that Social Player provides on any Nokia (or other) device. Kudos to Strands!
Am i the only one who cannot download the java version at all?
Here two different options that work:
1. Try with this link from your PC:
http://www.mystrands.com/files/SocialPlayer.zip
Once you have it downloaded, uncompress the ZIP file, and send both files to your phone
2. Type this link in the browser of your phone:
http://www.mystrands.com/files/SocialPlayer.jad

I can’t either. The other doesn’t work.
Could you please give me more info:
1. Which phone are you using?
2. Can you download the zip file to your PC?, can you transfer jad and jar file to your phone?, what happens if this is not the case?
3. Are you able to connect to previous link from your phone browser?, which is the message you get from the phone?
It works now. Must have just taken a little time to get the download ready.
