Two new Sidekicks coming to T-Mobile this summer?
TmoNews is claiming to have the scoop on not one, but two new Sidekick devices. The first, codenamed the SK Gekko, is scheduled to launch on the 27th of July, while the second, codenamed the "Sidekick Aspen", is currently slated for a July 30th launch. We’re not betting one of these will be the red Sidekick Slide we told you about a little while ago, so yeah. While we wouldn’t put it past T-Mo and Danger Microsoft Danger to launch a 3G-capable Sidekick, it seems unlikely given the recent LX and Slide releases. That said, we’ll continue to dig up more info on these as it becomes available.

Yea, the Sidekick train is getting boring, I think. It was a good ride, and still proving to be decent now, but it’s running out of road.
What the new SK’s are already stale? They’ve been out for like not even 6 months…

If the sidekick slide wasnt made by motorola, and had wm6.1 standard, and wasnt purple or pink, and didnt have the speaker on the screen in the middle of the phone making it super awkward to hold, and had 3g and wifi, and didnt turn off at random times when you open or close it, and had a higher rez and larger screen… i think i would buy one

Yeah tmobile needs some better phone like all the other carriers. I like the tomobile plans alot, but there phones just don’t compare, they have no touch screens or any cool things like that, i think im gonna switch too.

I agree unless they do some major upgrades to the sidekick, such as a touch screen, upgrading the camera and expanding the internet i’m not spending another dime on future sidekicks unless they do it. I mean they could stick to the roots and make the keyboard pad touch screen and the screen that kicks out touch screen too that means remove the tracball and the square pad and expand it like that. IT WOULD BE AWESOME!! The sidekick would definetly kick some iphone a** if this were done. But i agree tmobile needs to stop riding it out so long i’m starting to get dissapointed. They’re attracting the little kids instead of the gadget crazy population. The iphone 3g sold out the first day. Imagine the sidekick incorporating what i just stated it would sell out for weeks!! First of its kind that way.
I heard tmobile is going to have there own service bars in january meaning both fone and internet service will improve and I also heard their coming out with a sidekick touch dis fall if this is true im definately sticking with da sidekicks
sidekicks r pure crap they never really stood out 2 me they r just refurbished sidekick 1’s with a camera n a new function. At this rate tmobile is guna kill off their only potential weapon. After all all their phones are cheap knocks of prior versions they already released hopefully the sidekick 4 IS their stand out phone att has their iphone sprint has the instinct verizon has the voyeger when will tmobile ante up there sidekick n make it worth my damn 400?
All i have to say that the sidekick slide is slow as fuck! And they break easily.
They need to come out with something better and faster.

I have a Sidekick LX, and it’s alright. The new (well it’s not so new anymore…) video camera/video play feature was pretty friggin cool, but the excitement died down for me after about a week when I realized the camera was still shitty and couldn’t zoom in or out, and lagged a buttload. I WOULD get an iPhone, but it doesn’t have Picture Messaging and the Instinct has a crappy touchscreen. The Voyager was cool, but it’s basically a touch screen NV, and the NV2 is overrated with people using it everywhere. And the G1 can’t speed dial nor can it add numbers from a text/phone call (you hafta do it manually…).
So unless T-Mobile comes out with a Sidekick Touch with enhanced features such as a better camera (3.0 MegaPixel would be awesome), less laggy (a.k.a. 3G), and a separate internet connection such as Wi-Fi, I’m gonna change to Cingular and get that camcorder-looking Nokia phone (even though it’s pretty old…).
