@john – IM+ apparently works on blackberry… not sure what the performance is like but there is a 7 day trial.

I use iSkoot on my e61i to make SkypeOut calls. Works great and seems to be a lot lower overhead (less bloated) software than fring. Plus it doesn’t require me to have a WiFi connection going. iSkoot has a blackberry client as well, but I’ve never tried it.

I am able to use the EGPRS on my HTC hurricane to make skype calls, but I need the b spec wifi to initiate the connection.

Skype is the future! Carrier’s revenues will soon be limited to selling high speed data plans– no more monthly cell phone bills! Just a Skype Out plan and that’s it. Now THAT’S what I’m talking about.

Wohoo… a good step forward. Hopefully more phones will be supported, particularly on UIQ. Until then I will use Fring.
