AT&T Mobile TV (MediaFLO) Details, Price List and Launch Date

In our post last month containing live shots of AT&T’s MediaFLO on the LG Vu and Samsung Access, we also told you that the service would launch in May, but further details were under lock and key at the time. Thanks to an anonymous source inside AT&T, we now have all the details you need about the live television service we’ve all been waiting for. First and foremost, the service will launch on May 4 and will be rebranded as AT&T Mobile TV. Three packages will be available as follows:
- Mobile TV Limited - $13/month: Includes four channels; Fox Mobile, CBS Mobile, NBC, and NBC News
- Mobile TV Basic - $15/month: Includes 9 channels; Fox Mobile, CBS mobile, NBC, NBC News, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, CNN Mobile and ESPN
- Mobile TV Plus - $30/month: Includes the nine channels listed above as well as an exclusive Sony Pictures channel
That’s right people, real deal broadcast TV on your mobile with no buffering time. Also, parental controls will be available on both of the initial compatible handsets. In terms of what you can expect all this to do to your battery life, Mobile TV will be roughly equivalent to an active voice call.

You may want to add why I would want to watch tv on a phone… Or is it just me that wouldn’t pay 13 bucks a month for this novelty?

u seem to have left out something… the plus packagefor $30.00 includes media net and CV (cellular video) access. there is no need to pay the $15.00 seperately..
also there is no diffrence between the number of channels included between the $30.00 plan and the $15.00… just that the $15.00 was designed for people who do not need or want data access. or for those who already have a media net data plan from before …

Gee, I guess if I invested 800 million into a mobile tv product I would want atleast the techie junkies to want it… But media flo isn’t going to even do that. I will give you this much, it is neat and cool to show my friends. But honestly I can’t imagine paying even 10 a month for unlimited viewing. No dig on the service but this one leaves me scratching my head.

Mobile Tv is fun. I visited Japan last year and watched mobisodes on a tv phone for 3 weeks….great, entertaining way to pass the time…I had said I wouldn’t want to watch Mobile TV,but when I viewed the content, I could not stop watching it…Mobile Tv will become really popular in the US and Europe.

Mobile TV service has been available for a long time for a wide range of phones, it’s called MobiTV and has nearly 50 channels including NFL Network, all for only 9.99 a month! I had this for a while before I switched to SlingPlayer and the service is great.
This new AT&T offering is overpriced and LAME!

Mobile TV is actually a good product, Verizon has had it and is doing well with this product and AT&T is hoping to do the same, its great if you have bad kids who dont know how to shut up when your driving and its great if your bored and want something to do to pass the time, just because alot of people on here spend there time at home infront of TVs & Computers anyway doesn’t make it for everyone.
