Colorware announces custom Sony PSP

Colorware has just announced that they will be offering custom colorization services for the Sony PSP. Available immediately, anyone interested has the option of sending in their existing unit, or purchasing a fresh one directly from Colorware. Sending in your current PSP will run you $99, while a newly colorized unit starts at $269. What does this buy you? Any combination of 35 custom colors, with different combos available for the front, back, tray, logo area, and L & R buttons. The service is currently available for both the old style and new slim PSP units. It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Colorware’s custom process around here, so if that boring old black PSP is begging for a fresh face, we suggest you give this one ample consideration.

So I called them yesterday to inquire about having my VZW Curve (when it drops) colored and to have an image put on….okay so I can deal with the $99 for the coloring but they want $350 to START for a simple image….Eff That! I can’t imagine it was be THAT hard to put on an image and clear coat it! geesh!

That’s right – eBay your PSP, then take your $100, [add $300 to it] and buy the next generation of gaming platforms – the iPhone.
