Caught in the Wild: More Live Pics of LG VX8610 for Verizon
Bye bye Chocolate, hello VX8610. We’re not sure what feisty nickname this puppy will end up with, but at least we can all be sure of one thing: The VX8610 is coming to Verizon, and pretty soon. We told you about the upcoming Chocolate successor back in February and now that more pics are coming out we can assume that everything is right on schedule for a release this quarter. We hope Verizon and LG can get their acts together before June because from what we can tell, June is going to be a pretty busy month. Specs on the VX8610 are still a bit scarce but from the pics above we can now see the slim bluetooth headset that is worked into the case of the handset. We’ve seen other designs that integrate headsets a bit better than this, but it’ll do. We really hope the headset fits snugly into the phone though because the back of this puppy is a bit of an eyesore while the headset is removed. More info as it comes.

Just an FYI, this is not the successor to the chocolate. The chocolate “3″ will be the reddish hue flip phone as seen posted on other sites such as phonearena or HOFO. This phone is VX8610, the numbering pattern shows you that this phone is combination of the VX8600 and the chocolate series. The VX8560 will be the chocolate “3″.

I wouldn’t use model numbers to truly see what lines of phones they line up with. In terms of general design, this one seems much more related to the Chocolate LG VX8500/8550 line than to the LG VX8600 line, while the LG VX8560 seems much more related to the LG VX8600 line than to the Chocolate LG VX8500/8550. It was possible to make some sense of it all earlier, but recently, and even more so with these latest phones, the model numbering system doesn’t seem to be as much of an indicator or all that relevant to the naming line or anything like that.
