BGR Radio: Episode 1

Jibi and I took a little time out to do this first episode of BGR Radio for y’all last night. There’s a ton of info in here: we cover the BlackBerry 9000 and the whopping $900-$1000 SRP, the new 3G iPhone, how they both stack up against each other, and how RIM will compete with the iPhone and Windows Mobile. We also get a little technical for all you uber-geeks out there, so we’re breaking this up into two different segments. First one is below, second one tomorrow morning!

Is there an RSS feed to subscribe to this as a podcast?

This is good stuff BG! Jibi too. Never thought Id visit a blog and not have to read.
On a serious note, the 9000 need a browser, OS, media player, and attachment service overhaul for even a die hard like me to pick it up. Touch screen, not so much but itll be a nice addition, in keeping the QWERTY as well. Cant wait for Part 2

Good stuff!
I think with high-end execs picking up the 9000, it might act as a queue to push aging (and cheaper) 8800-level devices further down the corporate ladder to folks still packing the 8700 or older.

Agreed.
If this is going to be a semi-regular show, can we get an RSS feed? Would love to just see this pop up in iTunes whenever new ones are put out.

No self respecting person is going to buy a 1k dollar blackberry. I was a day one 700 dollar w/ tax Iphone buyer. But that was a revolutionary product. A blackberry isn’t worth that price.

If I wanted to listen to the radio, I would turn it on.
I say down with podcasts and do some typing so those of us at work can get the story in a quarter of the time!

How about a transcript for hearing impaired

Doing Youtube reviews sounds good, but you run the risk of watering down the edgy feel to BGR. It would look more and more like c/net, which is like a Consumer Reports site, which links you to places to buy the stuff. LOL, the forum might get packed out with real stupid questions, and fast.

if you do a podcast make it work with Zune please.

Thanks for the iTunes. Is RIM testing the waters on th e 9000 price tag $900-1k is ridiculous and way too high. Nearly double the price tag of their 8820. I was going to get one, now its a maybe at best. AT&T does NOT offer any insurance so thats too much coin to risk.

What does srp stand for?
maybe, just maybe Suggested Retail Price
no, that is just too easy.
and for $1k it better have a touch screen with hidden keyboard and sex appeal.

Guys was there music playing in the background. Otherwise pretty good content, its easier to listen than to read sometimes so this is great. Now about those rss feeds itunes, zune that’s what happens when you have a following its tough being loved.

MSRP = Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price. I guess my cell cut out, so don’t mistake it for RIM’s SRP.
As for those requesting YouTube, you do realize the first show was between two people that have succeeded in writing under pseudonyms? I can see it now with a YouTube show with creative camera angles and blurring and blackouts or masks…
Yo BG, I’ve got dibs on the Gorilla mask! You take the Dick Nixon one… LMAO!
Look for the continuation of the inaugural show tomorrow morning and more to come later on with special guests, more of the BGR gang, more covered subjects, breaking news discussions, no boundaries, and a whole lot more.

@Carmen, music was mixed into the background, yes. This was post-production though. It helps keep the flow of the show without making it horribly boring and bland. My voice is bad enough, so I appreciated the music
