HTC announced Touch Dual for U.S. market

Let the games begin! HTC has just announced that their Touch Dual handset will be available in the United States, beginning sometime this quarter. For those that don’t know, the Touch dual is a variation of HTC’s popular Touch handset, sporting TouchFLO, a 2 megapixel camera, and much more. In addition to the touchscreen, the handset also features a slide-out 20-key keyboard, making it a nice compromise between a smartphone and a traditional handset, without making too many concessions in the design department. This will be HTC’s first official Windows Mobile 6.1-equipped phone, and Quad-Band EDGE and Dual Band HSDPA support, making an AT&T-supported release look like a no brainer.
This phone was one WiFi chip away from the perfect phone.

Hmmm I might have to get ahold of one of these to do some testing because I work in Medical Imaging & we had the touches & hated them because of the lack of a usable keyboard for heavy email users. If this is anything like the Suretype that Blackberry uses for Pearl this will be our new apps phone. Looking forward to it.

one chip away? That would be the Touch Cruise with a bigger screen, wifi, gps, quadband GSM, triband 3G, 3MPx Cam (plus a VGA front cam), a stronger battery, and and FM radio added on.

i work for a mobile companies here in the states. I understand the whole idea of the whole touch screen is cool but from selling mobile phones for 4 years i know a little bit about them. Windows mobile phones are terrible, a couple of weeks back i saw a post here about how windows phones had a breakout year with so many sold. Believe me i’ve sold a lot and a good majority of them come back returned, i also used one for awhile and i just didnt know what the fuss was about with the windows mobile phones.
Also i don’t know why people compare blackberries to WM phones, blackberries are so much above WM.

They are.. till they shut down their servers, or they crash.. And WM users can still get their email. Plus I don’t want all my email going up to some place in Canada.
I’ve had a WinMo Pro, Standard, Palm, and BBerry….. and an iPhone. Blackberry made the worst impression on me. I’m currently rocking the Palm Centro, and I miss my WinMo apps. Live Search is 10x better then Google Maps.

Actually, Google Maps is 10x better than Live Search.
My wife’s WM phone certainly does suck, while my old BB is reliable, simple, useful…
