My AT&T 8820 has both GPS an WiFi?!

Hope the 8110 is true, I switched from a Pearl to this 8820 and I don’t want to give up my GPS but sure would like to be back using a Pearl.

I’ve played with the WiFi and don’t find that it adds much value for me, if any. It actually screws me up when I’m logged in to an application that requires a persistant connection to the BES because when I move out of range of my WiFi it doesn’t pass the connection over to my Mobile Netwok fast enough an I lose the connection in my application.

GPS is a lot more useful on a cell phone than you think. It’s not just for finding directions. Beyond411 Search (The best BB app ever!) has integration with GPS. So you can easily look up a business, restuarant or some other point & find the closest one. How often have you said, I’m hungry, I’m in a strange area, where is the nearest X? Or look up the nearest starbucks for that caffiene fix. THAT imho is worth far more than wifi. If I’m in range of wifi, I either have my desktop or notebook. I envy my wife’s 8820 for the GPS not the wifi. I’m just partial to the suretype keyboard.
My want list in a a pearl sized blackberry are:
GPS
A better browser (and don’t say Opera cuz I’m comparing it to the iphone)
3G

Screw wifi. Unless I can use Skype and make a free call, and have my calls roll over to wifi when I walk in the house, I could care less.

Most people are sick of black. And the original blackberries were always black. They didn’t come out with any other color until the 6xxx series which were all blue. I for one love the color choices. As does my mom, my wife, my daughter & my son who all now have blackberries since they came out with the pearl. The pearl changed them from an executive/IT guy business tool to a real phone that people want. I say bravo! cuz the more people that have them, the less likely the iPhone will take over the world.

I’m confused, AT&T got the Curve with GPS. But according to AT&T’s own webside as well as other tech sights (Gizmodo or Engadget can’t remember) AT&T is getting the 8120 with WiFi and T-Mobile is getting the 8110 with GPS. wtf bgr?

Since the wifi on BB devices doesn’t speed up the browser, and you can’t make voice calls with it on ATT, the 8110 is much more interesting than the 8120. I love the GPS and Google Maps intergration plus the large audio jack on my 8310. But the size of the Pearl is great. But I wasn’t willing to go back to a phone without the GPS but now that the 8110 is near…

NO, the 8100 doesnt have snot in it… It has telenav where it triangulates you from cell towers and puts you about 800 yards off…
not GPS, not WIFI.

I just switched from the 8100 to the 8120 for AT&T, Id rather wifi than gps personally.. too bad i cant have both!
