I love my current phone, but will really only consider buying another Iphone if it supports many of the following:

1) Supports flash animation in browser
2) Camera allows for video to be taken
3) 3G phone (and usable worldwide)
4) Allows true VOIP in wireless mode
5) Allows files to be downloaded and stored in folder

real gps uses far too much power for an i-phone to deal with. that will never happen. built in bluetooth would be nice though….. no more wired headphones.

3G would be fantastic, but I could live with the increased EDGE speeds Nokia-Siemens revealed today… I’d be much more interested in the second-gen model having GPS, more RAM (256 please!) and a five megapixel shooter with xenon flash. Oh, and more storage capacity, please– 32 or 64 would be wonderful!

i agree with trey. i think people are to lazy to MANUALLY organize their music and videos. Everyone just wants to stick everything they have into their mp3 players even though 1/2 the songs they dont listen to

apple fanboys never acknowledge the drawbacks to the iphone but as soon as news of the iphone2 surfaces they start with their list of stuff they would want on the iphone which they know full well should’ve been implemented in the original iphone if it wasnt for the dev team and others out there the iphone would be a shiny piece of crap el jobso should be thankfull that they took their time to hack the firmwares and such…

What is the need for a 32gig hard drive??? 8-16 option is plenty already. All they need is to adjust the sms texting to be able to turn the phone sideways for larger keyboard layout and also allow pics and video to come through text… Those simple thing would cure all the IPHONES problems.

I spent about 10 minutes playing with the iphone last month and im not sold till the keyboard somehow becomes larger. 3g or not i cant type on the damn thing very well. I would rather have the tilt if i needed a 3g option.

P.s.- im not a aplle hater i really like my ipod and there products but the iphone isnt a business tool yet. Blackberry owns the business world and with the curve its improving its personal image. Rim is going no where. 3g or not.

I don’t own any apple products but I am intrested in the iPhone because it is the only phone with a 3.5″ screen and a real web browser in a slim formfactor with 16GBs of storage (potentialy 32GBs).
Your just as dumb as AT but just a tad slower on the draw.

I don’t think the iPhone is your biggest issue…

Like i said I have never owned an Apple product but I will buy the first phone that has a 3.5″ or larger screen with a real web browser, real GPS and 3G.
If the iPhone delivers I’ll buy it I dont care who makes it

Any mac customer knows that this is no surprise for Apple to release a product “too soon”. First apple gave all their early adopters the big FU HAHA when 2 months after launch they dropped the price by like $200 and now a year after the first one is released (when everyone had to sign 2 year contracts) they release a better one. Apple definitely “keeps up with the times”, but it’s at the cost of the consumer because they will put out newer, better devices often before you’ve actually even began to age your product or get some real use out of it.

But, the diehard will flop out $800-$1000 for full retail to have the latest.

All you iPhone haters face it. There is indeed competition and iPhone knock offs but the success of the iPhone is due to the loyal fanbase. There are plenty of touch screen phones out there comparable or better than iPhone, just no all important Apple logo. In your eyes, Apple logo is all that matter. Each i-phone should have a different complete software version.

Since AT&T has a 5-year exclusive this should be the run down
ex) i-phone 1 = Firmware 1.0….
i-phone 2 = Firmware 2.0….
i-phone 3 = Firmware 3.0….
i-phone 4 = Firmware 4.0….
i-phone 5 = Firmware 5.0….

I think that the SDK software is a way of trying to keep us blind. They might have people testing the 2.0 software and making games and apps for it now to that in 3 months they can work the bugs out in time to have it ready for the final 2.0 release for the i-phone 2. Think about it. Why would you want to put v2.0 on the 1st Generation i-phone first, when the new G2 version can have it at launch.

The agreement with AT&T was just for the iPhone original. The new model could be for all to have – thus the large production numbers.

Let’s wait and see the real specs of this iPhone 2.0. Then let’s comapre them to existing and upcoming phones from other manufacturers.

Or you guys can just keep on riding the hype machine and worship the iPhone as a GOD.

However you might just want to remember that out there ther are quite a few phones that cost less and do MUCH more then an iPhone.

Could be a 3G iphone. Could also be another round of exhisting iphones to go to another carrier. That would only be possible if the exclusive deal was ended by agreement from both apple and att.

what im wondering is why would they release a “new” iphone in june? it makes no sense since they are making such a big hype about the new sdk kit and apple’s “official” 3rd party applications. and all firmare 2.0 is supposed to be for the current IPhone?
