BlackBerry 8120 now available on T-Mobile

How’s this for a bit of good news? T-Mobile has gone ahead and launched the new BlackBerry Pearl 8120. For anyone that’s counting, yes, this is an early launch. Last we heard, the phone was destined for an April 14th release date. You certainly won’t catch us complaining about this one. The 8120 is a great little handset for anyone in the SureType camp, sporting a 2 MP camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, external microSD slot, and Wi-Fi support that couples nicely with T-Mobile’s Hotspot@Home UMA service. Expect to be able to pick one of these bad boys up beginning today.

UPDATE: Engadget pulled the post as this was incorrect. Sorry, fellas!

What OS is coming preloaded on it? The advertisements said “video record capability” which would have to mean 4.5. How soon can we get an open box from BGR to confirm?

Hey BG, I just scanned the T-Mobile website and didn’t see any thing there… Is this going to be an instore only type of thing? And what about colors? Got any info what’s going to be available?

The engadget mobile link goes nowhwere; I’m assuming the post was removed. I’m a T-Mobile employee and can say we have not received any shipment of the new pearls. Most likely a bogus story.

Good going…take the news from another site and don’t check out the info yourself (how hard is it to look at TMO’s site to see?, or make a phone call to one of the store’s?). What you’re basically telling us here is that we should be reading Engadget and not BGR.

This has been out on Cincinnati Bell for a few weeks now, maybe longer.

I wish all the carriers would release the devices at the same time. The consumers always seam to get screwed when it comes to cell phone companies.
