Just an FYI I just got off the phone with Sprint Tech Support and they said that the 8330 came out over the weekend, I told her that I could not find any information on the net about it and she said it just might not have hit. Sounds like Sprint needs to get it together!!!!

I have spoken w/Sprint CS on 4 occasions. They could not give a release date on the 8330…also, eveyone until the last assured me that with their new ’simply everything plan’ the phone could be used as modem for laptop w/no additional charge…..Now, I’m told that you could never do that w/the everything plan…they just started it, and that w/ that plan you could not use phone as modem. You would have to have a completely different plan.
Frustrating on 3 out of 4 saying something completely different.

April 20th… i just got off the phone with sprint telesales. now the curve 8330 release date is JUNE 2008!!! BITCH!!!!!!!!

Sprint/Nextel is great coverage, horrible customer service. You say “shouldn’t need CS w/good coverage”. Everyone needs CS from time to time and Sprint is HORRIBLE, the worst rated I’ve ever seen and experienced. I’m seriously considering paying a $275 early term. fee just to get out. Looks like VZW or T-mobile have best service and customer service around. Side note, BB7100i is a horrible BB. No “extras” at all. For a phone, ok, for a BB, SUX!!

word from the inside… birghtpoint does not market/supply/carry the 8830… yet. they will not host the 8330 for some time. this is not a typo, but it is sad for sprint customers like me..

If Verizon gets this it likely wouldn’t be until 2009. Remember the HTC Touch rumors? It was supposed to come out for Verizon in March. It’s already been delayed. So pathetic. No enterprise user should still be with Verizon. Move on. I’m glad I did.

I agree with Andy, Im switching to from Verizon to Sprint as soon as the this drops. I use a lot of minutes and and data so the $99 unlimited plan cant be beat. Network similar and will bite the bullet on CS. Plus the black curve will prob be better looking then the silver that VZ will most likely release shortly after.

Come on,

We all know Sprint definitely has the best coverage, best service and best data network out there.

The only thing they have been lacking is the great phones that the GSM carriers have, and now with this release sprint will have all of the best phones they have,m except the iPhone. If your not getting the iPhone and you live in the US, why not choose Sprint.

People always complain about their customer service, WHO CARES? YOU SHOULD RARELY HAVE TO CALL THEM IF AT ALL!!!!

The MSRP means if you were to buy it with no contract then it would be $600 but with contract i am guessing $349.00 before rebates so $249 is the price with contract and after rebates. That also means the 8830 will go down for price of contract

SRP of $599.99? ROFL! The curve’s been $99 on AT&T for months. Sure, they’ll reduce the price with rebates, etc., but you’d have to be an idiot to renew a contract with Sprint for what seems to be a $200+ Curve.

As much as I would like VZN to release this first, history has shown us that due to thier serious restrictions that they place on thier devices (lack of GPS on the 8830, etc) that they will perfect the lock down of the software on this device so that you have to pay for everything.
It completely sucks but this is why it will be atleast (IMHO) 6 more months before VZN even announces that they’ll be coming out with this.

I knew BGR would be the first with some solid evidence of a release. Does this mean a red or black device coming June or will they release another color shortly after launch?
