Brightpoint Schedule Solidifies Sprint 8330 Release Date & More

There you have it folks. Brightpoint is scheduled to receive the Sprint variant of the BlackBerry Curve 8330 on April 16th and it will become available via other channels on the 20th. We can also firm up the fact that it will be packing GPS, OS 4.3, 2.0 megapixel camera, video recording and voice notes. It will not however, include WiFi. The initial offering will be titanium and a red version is expected to follow after about two months. Check out the schedule image for some more solid details on other devices like the Katana LX and a couple more Sanyos.
[Thanks theoutsider]

Incorrect. 8330 guys. 8830 is already out.

Easy to see why the typo was made…
Sprint schedule listed below also says Curve 8830, but the part number is correct as (SP8330RIM)

For the Curve does “all other channels” mean Verizon?

I knew BGR would be the first with some solid evidence of a release. Does this mean a red or black device coming June or will they release another color shortly after launch?

hopefully verizon’s will soon follow!

VZW should release it first

As much as I would like VZN to release this first, history has shown us that due to thier serious restrictions that they place on thier devices (lack of GPS on the 8830, etc) that they will perfect the lock down of the software on this device so that you have to pay for everything.
It completely sucks but this is why it will be atleast (IMHO) 6 more months before VZN even announces that they’ll be coming out with this.

Sprint curve on Verizon network! Unlocked gps!!

SRP of $599.99? ROFL! The curve’s been $99 on AT&T for months. Sure, they’ll reduce the price with rebates, etc., but you’d have to be an idiot to renew a contract with Sprint for what seems to be a $200+ Curve.

Are they insane? $600?????? Sprint better drop that price because they need nothing short of a miracle to prevent them from being part of the DeadPool in 2 years……….

The MSRP means if you were to buy it with no contract then it would be $600 but with contract i am guessing $349.00 before rebates so $249 is the price with contract and after rebates. That also means the 8830 will go down for price of contract

OK, so the Spring Curve will be $150 more than the AT&T Curve? And that’s ok how?

Well it’s a new launch, not to mention the 8330 will have more features then the 8300’s But After a while the price will decrese. Sprint website has already confirmed it with a press release of the new 8330.

Will this be out for VZW prior to Sprint’s release? I need to know. Someone must know.

Is this a world phone like the 8830? How Sprint has gotten away with not having world phone capabilities until just recently is beyond me. Why I’ve stuck with Sprint is even a bigger question.

No it will not!! Did you even read the past posts……

Come on,
We all know Sprint definitely has the best coverage, best service and best data network out there.
The only thing they have been lacking is the great phones that the GSM carriers have, and now with this release sprint will have all of the best phones they have,m except the iPhone. If your not getting the iPhone and you live in the US, why not choose Sprint.
People always complain about their customer service, WHO CARES? YOU SHOULD RARELY HAVE TO CALL THEM IF AT ALL!!!!

I agree with Andy, Im switching to from Verizon to Sprint as soon as the this drops. I use a lot of minutes and and data so the $99 unlimited plan cant be beat. Network similar and will bite the bullet on CS. Plus the black curve will prob be better looking then the silver that VZ will most likely release shortly after.

VERIZON YOU ARE KILLING ME, the pearl 2 is nice BUT it was only a stop gap…..

Kudos Andy I totally Agree with you!
Go Sprint!

If Verizon gets this it likely wouldn’t be until 2009. Remember the HTC Touch rumors? It was supposed to come out for Verizon in March. It’s already been delayed. So pathetic. No enterprise user should still be with Verizon. Move on. I’m glad I did.
