New Pics of BlackBerry Curve 8330 for Sprint; Memory Upgrade?

Odd, this one. A post went up earlier on pinstack depicting a BlackBerry 8330, clearly on Sprint, with some interesting memory specs. Here’s the text from the post:

8330 Getting Much Needed Internal Memory Upgrade?

See below. Keep in mind, this screen is after the restore of information (approx 5,000 emails, 4000 contacts, 1000 calendar events) and the installation of 4 applications.

43+ MB free, 80 MB total. That’s a whole lot of free memory there. A couple more pics after the jump

Not with BlackBerries on CDMA. They’re either GPS or WiFi, not both. So since this has GPS, it won’t have WiFi

Would that be possible (to get a Curve to work on Verizon (after the open program is initiated)?

No wifi capabilities, you can insert a wifi micro sd for that. people just buy the darn memory card to put in your phone, call it a day and be happy that Sprint and verizon are finally getting this phone.

Not sure why WiFi is even being asked about, all the XX30 devices are CDMA, with GPS.

    A few answers:
Will be released with 4.3, not 4.5
Will not have WiFi (no CDMA device will have wifi)
Will have GPS (Of course will be unlocked on Sprint, VZW will stock lock theirs down)
All indications seem to point to April 21st release on Sprint
Will not be a world edition like the 8830, is only CDMA
    Camera;yes.
    Video recording, yes.
    Voice Notes, yes.
Only an EVAL unit, however, does not have the equalizer for the media.

    Other questions?

Also it will come in “titanium” to begin with.

After about 2 months, expect to see it in red on Sprint as well

David Hoff, I like your suggestion however many 3rd party apps don’t run very well off of external memory & right now I don’t think there’s an option in the Blackberry OS to run off external memory. And as for battery life, my BB goes for days without having to recharge sometimes would I sacrifice a day or 2 of that just to have more internal memory, you betcha I would. & I am certain I am not the only one.

Telus Employees at the Oakville location say the 8330 will be released early April in Canada, for of course, Telus.
One employee said it will cost around $549 with no contract.

Rogers as well has a GSM version of the Curve, leaving Bell the only Major Canadian Carrier who has yet to release any information on the 8330.

If you have any more questions Telus Employees are very helpful in their stores and are happy to answer most questions.

Please let it come in interesting colors. I’m sick of Sprint’s color choices (i.e. black).

Vznzv may be the best from a cell phone company but it still sucks. I have telenav, yes from another company, works with real gps. My gf uses vznav and she met up with me for lunch and was placed 2-3 blocks away! I know how vznzv works but I rather have a sprint curve with unlocked gps

@ Edwin P I hope your right as alot of the sites are still saying June.Phonearena ususally is correct on this stuff. I wonder if maybe another color will release in June and the silver one in April? Shouldn’t we have seen a press release by now? Normally 30 days ahead of launch date is when you see a press release.
I agree about the memory 64 or 80 is plenty for my needs. I want better battery life over more memory. I think that is why Rim has some of the best smartphones out there due to battery life.

    April 11th for Bell.
    April 15th for Telus.

Not 100% at this point, but it is starting to look like they’re the right days.
